The Arturia ASTROLAB 88 is an 88-key standalone stage keyboard designed to bring a broad library of performance-ready sounds to rehearsals, studios, and live setups without requiring a computer onstage. Its weighted Fatar TP-40L hammer-action keybed, piano-size keys, triple sensors, velocity response, and aftertouch support expressive piano, electric piano, organ, synth, and layered parts. It is a practical choice for players who want one keyboard to cover diverse musical roles while retaining direct hardware control.
AstroLab 88 includes more than 1,800 onboard presets drawn from 44 reference instruments and 11 synthesis engines. Its sound palette spans virtual analog, samples, wavetable, FM, granular, physical modeling, vector, harmonic, phase-distortion, vocoder, and Karplus-based synthesis. The instrument is built for fast access to usable sounds, with a navigation wheel and screen for browsing and selecting presets.
For performance control, the ASTROLAB 88 provides four macro controls labeled Brightness, Timbre, Time, and Movement, along with dedicated effects controls. Chord and Scale modes, an arpeggiator, and a MIDI looper support songwriting, practice, and live arrangement ideas directly from the keyboard. Multis and keyboard splits let players combine or divide sounds across the keybed for more complete parts from one instrument.
The keyboard is equipped for stage and studio audio routing with balanced 1/4-inch TRS line outputs, a headphone output, and a balanced stereo input that can be used with microphone or line-level sources. MIDI DIN input and output support communication with compatible hardware, while USB-C provides computer connectivity and USB-A host capability supports compatible external USB MIDI devices or USB media workflows. Bluetooth audio input and Wi-Fi add wireless connectivity options for playback and control.
AstroLab 88 fits naturally into an Arturia-centered workflow through included Analog Lab Pro software and AstroLab Connect mobile sound management. Custom sounds created or organized in the software ecosystem can be prepared for performance use on the hardware instrument. It can operate as a standalone keyboard, while its MIDI, USB, audio, and pedal connections allow it to serve as the central performance keyboard in a larger rig.

Design & Installation
The ASTROLAB 88 is built around a weighted Fatar TP-40L hammer-action keybed with piano-size keys, triple sensors, and aftertouch. Its control surface combines a central navigation wheel and display with dedicated preset, macro, and effects controls for direct access during performance. Arturia specifies the instrument at 22.2 kg, so its full-size design is best supported by a stable keyboard stand or piano-style stand rated for its weight.
Connect the included external power supply, then run the balanced 1/4-inch TRS outputs to a mixer, audio interface, powered speakers, or DI boxes as appropriate for the system. A sustain pedal, expression pedal, and up to two auxiliary pedals can be connected for hands-free control; compatible MIDI devices can connect through MIDI DIN or USB. Use USB-C for computer integration and software workflow, and use the headphone output for private monitoring.
