Shure MX410/S 10-Inch Supercardioid Gooseneck Microphone

The Shure MX410/S is a 10-inch modular gooseneck condenser microphone for permanently installed speech systems. It is designed for conference tables, lecterns, boardrooms, and other presentation spaces where clear individual microphone pickup is needed. Its included MX400SMP surface-mount preamp supports a neat fixed installation.

This model uses a supercardioid cartridge, making it suited to close, individual talker placement. Shure specifies one supercardioid microphone for each person in a conferencing layout. The focused pickup pattern helps make the MX410/S a practical choice for structured meetings, podium use, and installed speech reinforcement.

The MX410/S has a smooth 50 Hz to 17 kHz frequency response and a 93 dB dynamic range. Its electret-condenser design provides 21 mV/Pa sensitivity and supports a maximum SPL of 120 dB at 1 kHz with 1% THD. These specifications support articulate voice reproduction in professional installed-audio applications.

A bi-color LED at the bottom of the gooseneck provides visible microphone status indication. The included surface-mount preamp includes a logic input for external LED control, allowing integration with compatible automatic mixers or TTL logic systems. A selectable low-cut filter can reduce frequencies below 150 Hz at 6 dB per octave.

CommShield RF filtering helps the microphone resist interference from portable mobile and handheld devices. The MX410/S uses active-balanced output circuitry and operates from 48 to 52 V DC phantom power. Design & Installation

The MX410/S combines a black low-profile gooseneck microphone with an electret-condenser capsule and surface-mount preamp. The microphone weighs 0.068 kg, while the MX400SMP preamp weighs 0.125 kg. Its modular Microflex design uses an interchangeable cartridge system, with the supercardioid cartridge furnished on this model.

Install the included MX400SMP preamp permanently in a conference table or lectern, then connect the microphone using its 5-pin XLR arrangement and provide 48 to 52 V DC phantom power. The supplied 5-pin XLR female connector can be wired for audio and LED logic control. Avoid overtightening the included wing nut, as this can reduce the mount's shock isolation.
