The sE Electronics V7 MK is a wired dynamic handheld microphone created as the Myles Kennedy Signature Edition. It is designed for vocals, speech, broadcasting, podcasting, electric guitar, and drums. Its supercardioid pickup pattern helps focus on the intended source while reducing pickup from surrounding stage sound.

For singers and presenters working with monitors or loud backlines, the V7 MK is intended to provide useful isolation and gain before feedback. Its aluminum voice coil is paired with a dynamic capsule for a clear, open vocal character. The 30 Hz to 19 kHz frequency range supports detailed vocal capture while remaining suitable for a variety of amplified sound sources.

The microphone uses sE Electronics' DMC7 X dynamic element with a neodymium magnet and aluminum voice coil. Its patented integrated shockmount decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration to help reduce handling and rumble noise. A switchable internal windscreen helps control plosives and unwanted wind noise.

The V7 MK has an all-metal body with a custom roadworn finish, a zinc-alloy chassis, and a beveled spring-steel grille. The grille's beveled shape helps prevent the microphone from rolling when placed on a flat surface. Gold-plated XLR contacts provide the microphone's balanced 3-pin XLR connection.

Use the V7 MK with a mixer, microphone preamp, PA system, recorder, or audio interface that accepts an XLR microphone input. It can serve as a primary live vocal microphone or as a versatile dynamic option for close-miking guitar amplifiers and drums. A mic clip, thread adapter, black internal screen, and carrying pouch are included for stand mounting and transport.

Design & Installation

The V7 MK combines an all-metal zinc-alloy chassis with a dent-resistant, corrosion-free spring-steel mesh grille. Its custom roadworn finish and black grille distinguish this Myles Kennedy Signature Edition from the standard V7 styling. The beveled grille edge is designed to limit rolling when the microphone is set down.

Connect the microphone's 3-pin male XLR output to a compatible female XLR microphone cable, then route that cable to a mixer, microphone preamp, PA system, recorder, or audio interface with a microphone input. Position the front of the supercardioid capsule toward the performer or sound source, and aim monitor speakers away from the microphone's primary pickup area. Use the included mic clip and thread adapter when mounting it to a standard microphone stand.
