The Mackie EM-89D is a handheld dynamic vocal microphone designed for live sound, rehearsal spaces, home studios, and basic recording setups. It provides a straightforward XLR microphone option for singers, presenters, and musicians who need a dependable wired mic. Its included cable, clip, and zipper pouch help create a ready-to-use microphone package.

This microphone is suited to vocals as well as instrument miking. Its cardioid, unidirectional pickup pattern is designed to focus on sound arriving from the front while reducing peripheral noise. That makes it useful when working near stage monitors, other performers, or unwanted room sound.

The EM-89D has a 50 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response and a sensitivity rated at -52 dB ±3 dB. Its dynamic element does not require its own power source. The result is a practical microphone format for common live and recording signal chains.

A 600-ohm output impedance and male 3-pin XLR output support connection to compatible mixers, audio interfaces, microphone preamps, and PA systems. The end-address handheld design is intended to be aimed toward the voice or sound source. A supplied XLR cable simplifies initial setup with compatible XLR-equipped equipment.

For a simple vocal-mic upgrade, the EM-89D can be paired with a microphone stand, mixer, powered speaker system, or recording interface. The included mic clip supports stand mounting, while the pouch helps keep the microphone and accessories together between uses. It is a practical choice for users building a basic wired vocal or instrument-miking setup.
