sE Electronics V PACK ARENA BLACK Drum Mic Kit

The sE Electronics V PACK ARENA BLACK is a complete seven-microphone drum recording and reinforcement kit for full acoustic drum sets. It combines dedicated kick, tom, snare, and overhead microphones in a coordinated all-black package. The set is designed for live performance, rehearsal spaces, and studio drum recording.

A V KICK Black handles bass drum duties, while three V BEAT Black microphones and three V CLAMP mounts cover toms or additional snare positions. The included V7 X Black provides another dynamic option for snare or other instruments. A factory-matched pair of sE8 small-diaphragm condensers is supplied for stereo overhead capture.

The dynamic microphones use supercardioid pickup patterns to focus on the intended drum while helping reduce spill from nearby drums and cymbals. The V KICK Black provides four selectable voicings through two rear switches, allowing its low-end and upper-frequency character to be adjusted. V BEAT microphones use a compact swivel design for accurate aiming around the drum head.

For overhead work, the sE8 pair uses handcrafted 1/2-inch true-condenser capsules, transformerless Class-A circuitry, switchable pads, and switchable low-cut filters. This gives the overhead channels a detailed, balanced capture with useful headroom for close and loud sources. The condensers require 48V phantom power from compatible microphone preamps or an audio interface.

The V PACK ARENA BLACK is suited to players, engineers, and venues that need a coordinated drum-miking starting point without assembling each position separately. Its V CASE keeps the microphones, clamps, clips, and adapters together for transport and storage. The case also includes space for an additional pencil condenser microphone, such as a hi-hat mic.

Design & Installation

The V KICK and V BEAT microphones use all-metal housings, spring-steel grilles, neodymium magnets, aluminum voice coils, and gold-plated XLR connectors. The V BEAT also incorporates an internal capsule suspension, while the V KICK has an integrated swivel joint for positioning. The sE8 microphones use all-metal chassis construction and include clips, windscreens, and thread adapters.

Use the V CLAMP mounts to secure each V BEAT to compatible snare or tom rims, then set height and rotation with the clamp and microphone swivel. Place the V KICK inside or outside the bass drum, use the V7 X Black for snare or another close-miked source, and position the sE8 pair above the kit. Connect all microphones with standard 3-pin XLR cables; provide 48V phantom power only for the two sE8 condensers.
