The sE Electronics X1 S Vocal Pack is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone bundle built for recording vocals, spoken word, instruments, and podcast content. It combines the X1 S cardioid condenser microphone with a shockmount, metal pop filter, and 3-meter XLR cable. The X1 S uses a hand-crafted, individually tuned 1-inch true condenser capsule and a cardioid pickup pattern. Its cardioid response focuses on the source in front of the microphone while reducing pickup from the rear. The microphone is suited to close vocal work as well as acoustic instruments, guitar cabinets, drums, piano, and broadcast-style speech.

Its sound platform is designed around a broad 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 30 mV/Pa sensitivity, and a low 9 dB(A) equivalent noise level. These specifications support detailed recording with a low self-noise contribution in suitable recording environments. The X1 S also offers an 85 dB signal-to-noise ratio and up to 151 dB of dynamic range with its attenuation pad engaged.

For louder sources, selectable -10 dB and -20 dB attenuation pads raise the microphone's maximum SPL handling from 140 dB to 150 dB or 160 dB, respectively. Switchable 80 Hz and 160 Hz low-cut filters help reduce rumble, footfall noise, and excess low-frequency buildup from close-miking. These onboard controls let the user tailor the microphone before the signal reaches the interface or mixer.

The Vocal Pack fits naturally into an XLR-based recording setup with a 48V phantom-powered audio interface, mixer, or microphone preamp. Its included quick-lock shockmount helps isolate the microphone from stand-borne vibration, while the metal pop filter addresses vocal plosives. Design & Installation

The X1 S has an all-metal chassis with a gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector. Its side-address body measures 58 mm in diameter and 169 mm long, with a listed microphone weight of 445 g. The included Isolation Pack combines a quick-lock shockmount with a metal pop filter that mounts directly into the shockmount for a compact layout.

Connect the included 3-meter XLR cable from the microphone to a balanced XLR input on an audio interface, mixer, or microphone preamp that provides 48V phantom power. Mount the microphone upright in the shockmount, position the pop filter between the performer and capsule, and use the low-cut filter or pad when recording close vocals or high-output sources. For direct computer recording, an audio interface with XLR input and phantom power is required.
