The sE Electronics X1 A 2C White 25th Anniversary is a side-address condenser microphone designed for recording vocals and instruments. Its cardioid pickup pattern focuses on sound in front of the microphone while helping reduce pickup from the rear. The white-and-black anniversary finish offers a distinct visual option for home and project-studio recording setups.

This microphone is suited to musicians, content creators, engineers, and streamers who need an XLR condenser mic with straightforward controls. It can be used for vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar cabinets, drums, piano, brass, strings, and room recording. A 48V phantom-powered audio interface, mixer, or microphone preamp is required for operation.

The X1 A uses a 2/3-inch back-electret condenser capsule with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and 20 mV/Pa sensitivity. Its cardioid pattern and balanced sensitivity support close-miked voices as well as detailed instrument capture. With 16 dB equivalent noise and a 78 dB signal-to-noise ratio, it is designed for clean studio recording.

A switchable -20 dB pad expands the microphone's capability with louder sources. Maximum SPL handling is rated at 130 dB without the pad and 150 dB with the pad engaged, measured at 0.5% THD at 1 kHz. The switchable 100 Hz low-cut filter helps reduce low-frequency rumble, footfall noise, and excess proximity effect during close-miked use.

The X1 A 2C has an all-metal housing, integrated windscreen, and gold-plated 3-pin XLR output. It includes a swivel mic clip and a mic stand thread adapter for basic stand mounting. Add an XLR cable, phantom-powered interface or mixer, and appropriate recording software to build a practical vocal or instrument recording chain.
