The sE Electronics RF PRO is a stand-mounted portable acoustic treatment filter designed to reduce the room reflections that can reach a recording microphone. It creates a more controlled capture area behind and around the microphone, helping the direct vocal or instrument signal remain the focus. It is well suited to home studios, voice-over setups, mobile recording rigs, rehearsal spaces, and studio rooms that need additional localized acoustic control.

Rather than functioning as a complete soundproof booth, the RF PRO helps limit reflected sound from nearby walls and surfaces from returning to the microphone. This can be useful when recording vocals, acoustic instruments, guitar cabinets, drums, and other sources in imperfect rooms. The result is intended to be a drier, more focused recording that can be shaped further during mixing.

The RF PRO uses sE's patented nine-layer acoustic design, developed to absorb and diffuse reflections across the frequency spectrum. Its multi-layer construction is intended to avoid the uneven high-frequency-only absorption associated with simple foam shields. This makes it a practical recording accessory when the goal is controlled ambience without permanently altering the room.

Its redesigned mounting hardware attaches to a microphone stand and provides pan, tilt, forward/back positioning, and microphone placement adjustment. The included standoff lets a microphone in a compatible clip or shockmount mount to the assembly. Proper balancing keeps the combined filter and microphone weight centered above the stand for stable use.

The RF PRO can fit into a recording system alongside a favorite microphone, shockmount, pop filter, audio interface, and DAW. It is useful as a portable complement to broader room treatment, especially when a fixed vocal booth is not available. Design & Installation

The RF PRO uses a durable professional-style filter and mounting assembly, with metal clamps and chromatized moving hardware components intended to reduce wear. The filter is hand-assembled by sE Electronics. Its curved enclosure places the acoustic treatment behind the microphone, where it can help manage reflections returning toward the capsule.

Mount the bracket securely to a sturdy vertical microphone stand, install the support rod and filter, then attach the microphone with a compatible clip or shockmount. The included thread adapter is required for 5/8-inch U.S.-standard threaded mounts. Position the microphone capsule approximately even with the front edge of the filter, then adjust the assembly so its center of gravity remains directly above the stand.
