Hifonics HAC-3000.4D Four-Channel Class D Amplifier
$487.32
AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit
$78.00
The Hifonics Colossus PRO HAC-3000.4D is a four-channel car audio amplifier for systems that need substantial power across multiple speakers. It can run front and rear full-range speakers in stereo or be configured for two bridged channels. Its selectable crossover controls help match the amplifier to the speakers being used.
This amplifier is suited to vehicle audio upgrades using pro-style speakers, high-output component systems, or other full-range drivers. It provides 300 watts per channel at 4 ohms, 500 watts per channel at 2 ohms, and 800 watts per channel at 1 ohm. For bridged applications, it is rated at 900 watts per channel into 4 ohms.
The HAC-3000.4D uses a Super D Class, half-bridge design intended to provide efficient high-output operation. Its full-range Class D platform supports both high-pass and low-pass crossover operation for different speaker roles. A variable bass control and adjustable bass boost provide additional low-frequency tuning.
For signal adjustment, the amplifier includes variable high-pass filtering from 15 Hz to 6 kHz and variable low-pass filtering from 40 Hz to 2 kHz. The input sensitivity range is 0.2 to 5 volts for use with compatible RCA-level source-unit signals. Nickel-plated RCA input jacks and a high-end preamplifier circuit support the signal connection.
Thermal management combines variable-speed fan cooling with an extruded aluminum heat sink. The amplifier also includes protection for over- and under-voltage, short-circuit, and thermal conditions. A delayed turn-on function is designed to reduce turn-on and turn-off noise with compatible source units.
Key Features
- Four-Channel Output: Runs four speakers in stereo or two bridged 4-ohm channels.
- 1-Ohm Stability: Supports loads down to 1 ohm per unbridged channel.
- Variable Crossovers: High-pass, low-pass, and full-range modes aid speaker matching.
- Bass Adjustment: Built-in bass control provides 0 to 12 dB boost adjustment.
- Class D Architecture: Half-bridge design supports efficient full-range amplification.
- Protection Circuits: Monitors voltage, thermal, and short-circuit operating conditions.
Design & Installation
The HAC-3000.4D uses Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices, multilayer printed circuit boards, an iron-core transformer, and a mass-loaded extruded aluminum heat sink. It has variable-speed fan cooling, molded angled terminals for power, ground, and speaker wiring, plus an illuminated Hifonics logo and CNC-machined Colossus badge.
Use a secure, ventilated mounting surface and do not install the amplifier upside down. Installation requires properly routed RCA signal cables, speaker wiring, a direct fused battery connection, and a solid bare-metal chassis ground; Hifonics specifies 0 AWG power and ground cable with an external 200A fuse for this model. Set gains conservatively and configure the crossover mode separately for each channel pair to suit the connected speakers.

Can this amplifier power four speakers?
Yes. It is a four-channel amplifier rated for 4 x 300W at 4 ohms, 4 x 500W at 2 ohms, or 4 x 800W at 1 ohm. Match each speaker's impedance and RMS power handling to the selected configuration.
Can the HAC-3000.4D be bridged?
Yes. It can be configured as two bridged channels rated at 2 x 900W into 4 ohms. The minimum bridged impedance is 4 ohms.
Will it work with a factory radio?
The amplifier uses RCA-level inputs and does not list speaker-level inputs. A factory radio without RCA preouts would require a separate line-output converter or another compatible signal interface.
What power wiring is required?
Hifonics specifies 0 AWG power and ground cable and an external 200A fuse. The positive power cable should run directly to the battery and be fused near the battery connection.
What comes in the box?
Listed box contents include the HAC-3000.4D amplifier and a quick-start guide. Power cable, ground cable, fuse holder, fuse, RCA cables, and speaker wire are installation items that must be supplied separately.
How should the crossover controls be set?
The amplifier provides separate crossover controls for each pair of channels. Use high-pass filtering for midrange or high-frequency speakers, low-pass filtering for low-frequency drivers, or full-range mode when external filtering is used.
