The Audison AF M8.14 bit is an eight-channel Class D amplifier with a 14-channel DSP platform for building and tuning multi-speaker vehicle audio systems. It combines eight amplified outputs with six processed preamp outputs, allowing the system to grow beyond the channels powered by the amplifier itself. It is designed for installers and enthusiasts upgrading either a factory or aftermarket source unit.

At 14.4 VDC, the amplifier delivers 90 watts RMS to each of eight 4-ohm channels or 140 watts RMS to each of eight 2-ohm channels, with all channels driven. Channel pairs can also be bridged to produce 280 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms. This makes it suitable for active front-stage, rear-fill, and multi-way speaker configurations when matched to compatible speakers.

The integrated DSP operates at 24-bit/96 kHz and provides adjustable crossover, equalization, time alignment, phase control, routing, and real-time audio monitoring. Its output processing includes a 15-pole parametric or graphic biquad equalizer per output, while the analog input section provides 12 biquad bands plus delay. These tools allow an installer to correct source signals and tailor each speaker channel to the vehicle.

For factory-system integration, the AF M8.14 bit accepts eight high-level or low-level analog input channels and supports an optical S/PDIF digital input. It also includes OEM-oriented signal-correction functions including de-EQ, de-Time, de-Phase, electrical signal analysis, and Universal Speaker Simulator compatibility. An optional F4IN board can add four high-level analog inputs, while the optional F2O board adds a coaxial S/PDIF or second TOSLINK input.

The amplifier can serve as the main controller in a larger Audison Forza system. Its six DSP-controlled preamp outputs can feed companion amplifiers for additional speaker or subwoofer channels. Configuration and tuning are handled through Audison bit Drive software using a Micro USB connection to a compatible Windows computer.

Key Features

Design & Installation

The AF M8.14 bit uses a compact 240 x 47 x 156 mm chassis and a Class D amplifier stage rated at 82% efficiency. Audison supplies six connection cables, each with a protective printed strip near its Molex connector to improve resistance to torsion. The supplied harnesses provide organized connections for speaker-level input, RCA input, speaker output, DSP output, control functions, and PC setup.

Install the amplifier where it is protected and where airflow is available, using the specified 2 x 30 A fuse requirement and a stable 6.5 to 15 VDC supply. Use the included Speaker-In harness for factory speaker-level outputs or the included Pre-In harness for an aftermarket source with RCA pre-outs. DSP configuration requires a Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer, bit Drive software, and the included USB cable; optional Audison remote controls connect through the DRC port.
