The Audison AF M5.11 bit is a five-channel Class D amplifier with an integrated 11-channel digital signal processor for building a refined, space-conscious car audio system. It combines four full-range amplified channels with a dedicated subwoofer channel, making it suitable for powering front and rear speakers plus a subwoofer from one chassis. Its built-in DSP is designed to help correct, route, equalize, and time-align signals from factory or aftermarket audio systems.
At 4 ohms, the amplifier delivers 100 watts RMS to each of four channels plus 400 watts RMS to the subwoofer channel. At 2 ohms, it delivers 150 watts RMS to each of four channels plus 600 watts RMS to the subwoofer channel. This gives installers flexibility to match common component speakers, coaxial speakers, and appropriately impedance-matched subwoofers.
The AF M5.11 bit uses Audison D-Class technology and a 24-bit/96 kHz DSP platform with an audio bandwidth extending to 42 kHz. Its low 0.02% THD specification at 1 kHz, 4 ohms, and 70% rated power supports a clean signal foundation for a properly configured system. The DSP offers crossover, equalization, phase, delay, and real-time audio-monitoring tools for detailed system calibration.
Factory-system integration is a central part of this amplifier's design. It includes eight high-level inputs, eight low-level inputs, and optical digital input capability, while electrical signal analysis can assist with input correction. Universal Speaker Simulator technology on the high-level inputs is intended to support compatibility with OEM head units.
For expansion, the AF M5.11 bit provides six DSP-controlled pre-outs in addition to its five amplified channels. Its first and second channel pairs can be bridged for higher-power full-range applications, while the dedicated fifth channel remains available for subwoofer duty. This makes it a practical foundation for active front-stage systems, full five-channel upgrades, or systems that may later add external amplification.
Key Features
- Five Amplified Channels: Powers four speakers and one subwoofer from a single amplifier.
- Integrated 11-Channel DSP: Provides routing, tuning, crossover, EQ, and delay control.
- Bridgeable Channel Pairs: Channels 1/2 and 3/4 can drive higher-power loads.
- OEM Input Integration: Eight speaker-level inputs accommodate many factory audio systems.
- Optical Digital Input: Accepts a TOSLINK S/PDIF source up to 192 kHz/24-bit.
- Six DSP Pre-Outs: Supports adding external amplifiers for system expansion.
Design & Installation
The AF M5.11 bit uses a compact amplifier enclosure measuring 240 x 156 x 47 mm and weighing 2.04 kg. Its design combines amplification and DSP processing in one unit, reducing the number of separate components required in a system. Supplied labeled speaker-output cables support organized connection of the amplified outputs.
Professional installation and DSP tuning are recommended, particularly when integrating a factory radio or configuring bridged channels. Use speakers and subwoofers that meet the amplifier's stated minimum impedance requirements, and provide fused 12-volt power, ground, remote-turn-on wiring, and appropriate signal connections. A Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer and Micro USB connection are used for setup through Audison bit Drive software.
