Infinity Reference 7005A 5-Channel Car Amplifier

The Infinity Reference 7005A is a five-channel car amplifier designed to power front speakers, rear speakers, and a subwoofer from one compact chassis. It is a practical option for vehicle owners upgrading a complete audio system without adding separate full-range and subwoofer amplifiers. Its channel layout supports a balanced system with dedicated amplification for both cabin sound and low-frequency output.

At 4 ohms, the amplifier delivers 50 watts RMS to each of four full-range channels and 320 watts RMS to the subwoofer channel. At 2 ohms, it delivers 65 watts RMS to each full-range channel and 500 watts RMS to the subwoofer channel. This makes it well suited to systems using aftermarket speakers with a properly matched subwoofer.

The Reference 7005A uses a Class AB+D amplifier design and Balanced Differential Inputs to support low-noise signal handling. Separate gain controls and adjustable crossover sections help tailor the amplifier to the speakers and subwoofer in the vehicle. The subwoofer channel also adds bass boost and selectable phase control for system tuning.

Both low-level preamp inputs and speaker-level inputs are provided, allowing the amplifier to work with many aftermarket radios as well as compatible factory audio systems. Its selectable turn-on mode can be configured for remote-wire or signal-sensing use depending on the installation. Four bare-wire-to-RCA adapters are included for speaker-level input connections.

The compact, low-profile chassis is designed for installations where amplifier space is limited. A supplied RBC wired remote lets the listener adjust subwoofer level from the driver's seat. For systems needing additional front-stage output, the full-range channels can be bridged while the subwoofer channel remains active.

Plan installation around the amplifier's 14-3/16-inch by 2-3/16-inch by 7-1/8-inch dimensions and allow ventilation around the chassis. Infinity recommends 4-gauge power and ground leads; power wiring and installation hardware are not included as a wiring kit. Use the front and rear channels for full-range speakers, connect a properly matched subwoofer to the dedicated subwoofer channel, and set crossovers before final gain adjustment.
