Infinity Reference 7005A 5-Channel Car Amplifier

The Infinity Reference 7005A is a five-channel car amplifier designed to run a complete audio system from one chassis. It provides dedicated amplification for front and rear speakers plus a separate subwoofer channel, reducing the need to install separate full-range and bass amplifiers. It is a practical option for vehicle owners building a balanced speaker-and-subwoofer system.

The four full-range channels deliver 50 watts RMS each at 4 ohms, while the subwoofer channel delivers 320 watts RMS at 4 ohms. At 2 ohms, the full-range channels are rated at 65 watts RMS each and the subwoofer channel at 500 watts RMS. This channel layout supports clear everyday listening while providing substantially more power to the low-frequency section of the system.

The 7005A uses a Class AB+D amplifier design, combining full-range amplification with a dedicated bass channel. Balanced differential inputs are used to help control noise in the signal path. Its front and rear channels can also be bridged for a three-channel setup when system design calls for more power to a pair of speakers.

Variable crossover controls let installers direct appropriate frequencies to each part of the system. The front and rear channels offer selectable high-pass and low-pass filtering, while the subwoofer channel includes a low-pass filter, bass boost, and phase selection. These controls help match the amplifier to component speakers, coaxial speakers, subwoofers, and enclosure choices.

Both preamp-level and speaker-level inputs allow the Reference 7005A to work with many aftermarket or factory-source systems. A wired remote bass control module is included for convenient subwoofer-level adjustment from the driver's seat. Built-in protection circuitry and a status LED help monitor conditions including short circuits, temperature, overvoltage, and undervoltage.
