The Rockford Fosgate T1000X5ad is a compact five-channel car amplifier built to run a complete speaker-and-subwoofer system from one chassis. It provides four full-range channels for front and rear speakers plus a dedicated mono subwoofer channel. This layout helps reduce the space and wiring complexity associated with using separate multi-channel and mono amplifiers.
Its RMS output is rated at 100 watts across each of the four full-range channels at either 4 or 2 ohms. The subwoofer channel supplies 400 watts RMS at 4 ohms or 600 watts RMS at 2 or 1 ohm. The front and rear channel pairs can also be bridged for systems needing higher power to a pair of 4-ohm speakers.
The T1000X5ad uses Rockford Fosgate Class AD circuitry for the full-range channels and Class BD circuitry for the subwoofer channel. Its Constant Power design maintains the rated 100-watt full-range output at both 4- and 2-ohm loads. This makes it useful for system designs where speaker impedance and power needs must be matched carefully.
Integrated high-pass, low-pass, and subwoofer crossover controls allow the amplifier to divide frequencies between speakers and subwoofer without requiring an external crossover. Punch EQ controls provide adjustable bass or treble emphasis depending on the selected crossover mode. A fixed 28 Hz infrasonic filter is included on the subwoofer channel to reduce very low-frequency content.
For factory-radio upgrades and aftermarket head units alike, the amplifier accepts high- or low-level input signals through differential input harnesses. High-level input use enables automatic turn-on, while the C.L.E.A.N. input and output clip indicators assist with level setting. Its compact 1.6 x 4.3 x 12-inch footprint is suited to installations where amplifier mounting space is limited.
Key Features
- Five-Channel Layout: Powers four speakers and one subwoofer from one amplifier.
- 1,000-Watt RMS Rating: Delivers rated continuous power across its five channels.
- Constant Power Design: Full-range channels remain 100 watts RMS at 4 or 2 ohms.
- High- And Low-Level Inputs: Works with factory radios or aftermarket source units.
- C.L.E.A.N. Level Setting: Clip indicators help establish appropriate source and amplifier levels.
- Dual-Fan Cooling: Supports heat management in compact installation locations.
Design & Installation
The T1000X5ad uses an extruded aluminum heatsink, dual cooling fans, top-mounted controls, and detachable wiring connections. Its full-range speaker outputs use 4-pin harnesses, while the subwoofer output uses a detachable compression terminal. Power, protect, input-clip, and output-clip indicators provide at-a-glance operating status.
Use 4 AWG power and ground wiring, with a 100-amp fuse installed near the battery; the fuse is not included. Allow at least 1 inch of air space around the heatsink for cooling, and do not mount the amplifier in an engine compartment. Configure the front/rear crossover controls for the connected speakers, set the subwoofer crossover for the enclosure and subwoofer used, and verify speaker impedance before wiring bridged channels.

Can this amplifier power door speakers and a subwoofer together?
Yes. It has four full-range channels for speakers and one dedicated mono subwoofer channel. It is designed to power a complete five-channel system from one amplifier.
What power does the subwoofer channel provide?
The subwoofer channel is rated for 400 watts RMS at 4 ohms and 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms or 1 ohm. Confirm that the subwoofer's final wired impedance is compatible before installation.
Can I use the T1000X5ad with a factory radio?
Yes. The amplifier accepts high-level or low-level signals through its input harnesses. High-level input operation also enables the auto turn-on feature.
Can the four speaker channels be bridged?
Yes. The front and rear channel pairs are bridgeable to provide 200 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms. Bridged operation uses the left positive and right negative terminals for each channel pair.
What wiring and fuse does this amplifier require?
The power input accepts up to 4 AWG wire, and the recommended battery fuse is 100 amps. The fuse is not included, and it should be installed close to the battery.
Is a remote bass-level control included?
The amplifier is compatible with the optional Rockford Fosgate PLC2 Punch Level Control. The PLC2 is not listed as an included accessory.
