Hertz VENEZIA V5 5-Channel Marine Amplifier

The Hertz VENEZIA V5 is a five-channel marine amplifier built to power a complete boat audio system from one chassis. It provides four full-range channels for marine speakers plus a dedicated subwoofer channel for low-frequency reinforcement. This layout suits installations that need strong system output while keeping amplifier count and wiring complexity under control.

At 14.4 VDC, the VENEZIA V5 delivers 130 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms plus 490 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms. With compatible 2-ohm speaker loads, output rises to 220 watts RMS x 4 plus 820 watts RMS x 1. The front channels can also be bridged for systems needing two higher-power 4-ohm channels alongside the subwoofer channel.

Hertz Advanced Class D technology supports efficient operation in a compact marine amplifier format. The amplifier is Hi-Res certified and has a specified bandwidth of 10 Hz to 42 kHz. Balanced fully differential inputs are designed to help reject electromagnetic interference in demanding electrical environments.

Marine-focused construction addresses the corrosion, vibration, and temperature exposure common on boats. The VENEZIA V5 uses conformal-coated PCB protection, a die-cast aluminum chassis, and fanless convection cooling. Hertz specifies IPX2 certification when the amplifier is mounted vertically with its connections facing downward.

Flexible onboard filtering helps match the amplifier to full-range speakers, tower speakers, and a marine subwoofer without requiring an external crossover. Separate A-channel, B-channel, and subwoofer preamp inputs support organized system configuration. Its Safe-Lock input, speaker-output, and power connections are intended to support a secure installation in marine applications.

Design & Installation

The VENEZIA V5 combines a die-cast aluminum chassis with an extruded aluminum heat sink and fanless convection cooling. Its control section is protected by a polycarbonate panel, while conformal-coated circuit boards help protect electronic components from corrosion agents. The amplifier also includes auto-resetting short-circuit, overload, and thermal protection.

Install the amplifier in a ventilated location using the manufacturer’s recommended vertical orientation with connections facing downward to maintain its IPX2-rated installation condition. Connect it to a 9-16 VDC electrical system, use its A-channel, B-channel, and subwoofer RCA preamp inputs, and set crossover controls for the speakers and subwoofer used. The optional Hertz HRC BM2 remote adjusts only the SUB OUT channel level.
