Audison AF M6D 6-Channel Class D Amplifier

The Audison AF M6D is a compact six-channel Class D amplifier designed to add clean, high-output amplification to a processor-based car audio system. It provides six full-range channels for active front stages, front-and-rear speaker systems, or other multi-channel layouts. Its straight-wire architecture is intended for systems where signal processing and crossover duties are handled externally.

Rated at 135 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms or 220 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms, the AF M6D supplies substantial power across all six channels. Each channel pair can also be bridged, producing three channels of 440 watts RMS at 4 ohms. This gives installers flexibility when combining component speakers and subwoofer channels in the same system.

Audison D-Class technology uses a high switching frequency, steep output filtering, and tightly specified components. The design supports a wide 10 Hz to 42 kHz bandwidth and Hi-Res compatibility. With a specified 103 dBA A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio, the amplifier is engineered for low-noise integration with quality source and processor components.

The AF M6D accepts both low-level preamp and high-level speaker inputs, making it suitable for aftermarket radios, factory head units, and dedicated DSP processors. Its high-level inputs incorporate Audison Universal Speaker Simulator technology for compatibility with OEM source units. There is no digital input and no adjustable onboard crossover, so system tuning should be planned through an external processor or source component.

Forza companion amplifiers are particularly suited to expanding Audison AF bit DSP amplifier systems through the optional AF Link cable. The compact 240 x 156 x 47 mm enclosure helps conserve installation space while delivering up to 1,320 watts RMS total output at 2 ohms. A supplied signal and speaker-output cable set helps streamline integration into a multi-channel installation.

The manufacturer does not specify the chassis material, but the design is intended to place six channels of amplification in a space-conscious format.

Install the AF M6D with a 12-volt vehicle electrical system, observing its 11 to 15 VDC supply specification and dual 35 A fuse requirement. It can be fed by a head unit pre-out, factory speaker outputs, a standalone DSP, or an Audison AF bit DSP amplifier; external crossover and tuning functions are required where needed. Leave ventilation space around the amplifier, especially in enclosed mounting locations; Audison offers the optional AFM-CLK cooling accessory for tight spaces with limited airflow.
