Hifonics BXIPRO1-0 Digital Bass Enhancement Processor
$97.48
AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit
$78.00
The Hifonics BXIPRO1-0 is a digital bass enhancement processor designed for car audio systems using RCA-level signal connections. It is installed between the source unit and the next signal-stage component, such as a crossover, equalizer, or amplifier. Its bass-driver circuit is designed to recreate low-frequency information and add it back into the audio signal path.
This processor is intended for listeners building or upgrading a subwoofer-equipped vehicle audio system. It provides adjustable bass restoration controls to help tailor low-frequency response to the vehicle, speaker placement, enclosure, and music source. A dash-mount remote lets the driver adjust bass output from the front seat.
The BXIPRO1-0 uses balanced RCA inputs to help minimize induced noise and supports input signals up to 15V RMS. Its high-headroom PWM power supply and 13.2V peak maximum output level support integration with a range of aftermarket amplifiers and signal processors. The unit also includes a bass maximizer indicator and power-on LED for at-a-glance status feedback.
Two onboard controls adjust the bass-restoration effect. The Sweep control selects the center frequency from 27Hz to 63Hz, while the Width control adjusts the affected frequency range around that center point. These controls allow the processor to be set around the response characteristics of the subwoofer system rather than applying one fixed bass contour.
A dash-mounted control provides sub-volume adjustment and a variable subsonic control from 35Hz to 80Hz. The subsonic adjustment can help reduce very low-frequency content below the useful range of a subwoofer system. For a complete installation, the processor needs vehicle power, ground, remote turn-on, RCA input and output connections, plus an amplifier and compatible speakers or subwoofer.
Key Features
- Bass Driver Circuit: Recreates and injects low-frequency information into the signal path.
- Adjustable Sweep: Selects a bass-restoration center frequency from 27Hz to 63Hz.
- Width Control: Adjusts how broad a frequency range receives processing.
- Dash-Mount Remote: Provides convenient sub-volume and subsonic adjustments from the driver's seat.
- Balanced RCA Inputs: Help minimize induced noise in the incoming audio signal.
- High-Headroom PWM Supply: Supports stable processor operation in a vehicle audio system.
Design & Installation
The BXIPRO1-0 uses a compact steel chassis with panel-mount RCA input and output connections. Its control layout includes onboard Sweep and Width knobs, bass maximizer LEDs, and a power-on LED. The included dash remote adds a separate bass-level control with its own indicator.
Install the BXIPRO1-0 inline before a crossover when one is used, connecting its RCA outputs to the next component in the signal chain. Wire the unit to constant 12V power, chassis ground, and a 12V remote-turn-on lead, then connect the dash remote. Secure it in a dry location away from excessive heat, moisture, and physical damage, and set amplifier gain and processor controls carefully during system setup.

Will this work with a factory or aftermarket radio?
The BXIPRO1-0 uses RCA-level audio inputs and outputs. A source unit or signal interface with suitable RCA connections is needed for direct connection.
What else is needed to install it?
Installation requires RCA signal cables, 12V power, chassis ground, a remote-turn-on lead, and a downstream amplifier or other compatible signal-stage component. A subwoofer system is needed to reproduce the enhanced low-frequency output.
Where should the processor be placed in the signal chain?
Its RCA outputs connect to the next component, such as an equalizer, crossover, or amplifier. The operating instructions specify placing it before a crossover.
Can I adjust bass from the driver's seat?
Yes. The BXIPRO1-0 includes a dash-mount remote control with sub-volume adjustment. The remote also provides adjustable subsonic control.
What subwoofer size is suitable?
The manual lists recommended minimum speaker sizes based on the selected bass-output setting: 8 inches for 2.5V, 10 inches for 5.0V, and 15 inches for 7.5V or 10V settings. Proper amplifier gain and enclosure setup remain important.
