Cerwin-Vega CVM0 Digital Bass Enhancer

Audio360 AD2000.1 Monoblock Car Amplifier

AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit
$78.00
The Cerwin-Vega CVM0 is a car-audio bass processor designed to restore and shape low-frequency content before it reaches downstream audio components. It is intended for systems that need more control over sub-bass impact than a head unit or amplifier gain control alone can provide. The CVM0 connects at line level and is designed to work with compatible crossovers, equalizers, and amplifiers.
Its Bass Driver circuit recreates and injects low-frequency information into the signal path, while the bass equalization circuit contours the processed bass response. Sweep and Width controls let the installer select the bass center frequency and the range of frequencies affected. This makes the processor suited to tuning bass response around the vehicle, speaker placement, and enclosure characteristics.
The CVM0 uses balanced-input circuitry to help minimize induced noise and accepts signals up to 15V RMS. Its RCA outputs feed the next component in the signal chain, such as an equalizer, crossover, or amplifier. Cerwin-Vega specifies installing the CVM0 before a crossover in the system layout.
A dash-mount remote control is included for adjusting bass level from the driver's seat. The remote has an LED that brightens as bass is increased, while three LEDs on the processor indicate bass-maximizer activity. These controls support practical adjustment for different recordings without needing to access the main chassis.
The built-in PFM subsonic filter offers selectable 35Hz, 50Hz, and 80Hz settings for tailoring very-low-frequency filtering. Bass-output jumpers provide four output-setting options, allowing the processor to be configured around the rest of the system. It is a focused upgrade for car-audio systems using RCA-level source and amplifier connections.
Key Features
- Bass Driver Circuit: Restores and injects low-frequency information into the audio signal path.
- Bass Equalization: Shapes processed bass to better suit the installed speaker system.
- Sweep And Width Controls: Adjust the bass center frequency and affected frequency range.
- PFM Subsonic Filter: Selectable 35Hz, 50Hz, or 80Hz filtering supports system tuning.
- Dash-Mount Remote: Lets the driver adjust bass level from the listening position.
- Balanced RCA Inputs: Help minimize induced noise while accepting high-level preamp signals.
Design & Installation
The CVM0 is a compact processor chassis with front-panel Sweep and Width controls, bass-maximizer LEDs, a power-on LED, RCA signal connections, and a three-terminal power connector. Its rear-panel configuration includes input-grounding, ground-isolation, and bass-output-control jumpers. The included wired dash remote provides a separate bass-level knob and LED indication.
Install the CVM0 in an accessible, secure location and connect it using RCA-level signal cables. Connect its RCA outputs to the next component after the processor; Cerwin-Vega specifies placing the unit before a crossover. Wire B+ to a 12V source, connect the remote lead to a 12V DC turn-on lead, ground the unit to the vehicle chassis, and use the recommended 1A fuse rating.

Will the CVM0 work with a factory or aftermarket head unit?
The CVM0 uses RCA line-level inputs and outputs. It is intended to connect in a signal chain with compatible line-level source components, equalizers, crossovers, or amplifiers.
Does the CVM0 include a bass-level control?
Yes. A wired dash-mount remote control is included for bass-level adjustment from the driver's seat. Its LED becomes brighter as bass is increased.
Where should this processor go in the signal chain?
Cerwin-Vega specifies connecting the RCA outputs to the next component after the CVM0, such as an equalizer, crossover, or amplifier. The manual specifies installing the CVM0 before a crossover.
What power wiring does it need?
The unit requires a B+ 12V connection, a 12V DC remote turn-on connection, and a chassis ground. Cerwin-Vega specifies a recommended 1A fuse rating and 150mA power draw.
Can the bass processing be tuned for different systems?
Yes. Sweep selects a center frequency from 27Hz to 63Hz, and Width adjusts the range around that frequency. The PFM subsonic filter has 35Hz, 50Hz, and 80Hz selections.
Is professional installation recommended?
Cerwin-Vega recommends installation by an authorized dealer for the intended listening experience. The manual also provides wiring and setup guidance for self-installation.
