This Prime R2 model uses dual 2-ohm voice coils, giving installers wiring flexibility when matching the subwoofer to a compatible amplifier. It is rated for 200 watts RMS and 400 watts maximum power. The design is intended for a controlled, bass-focused upgrade rather than a full-range speaker application.

A mica-injected polypropylene cone and poly-foam surround provide a durable moving assembly for everyday automotive use. The R2SD2-10 uses a StampCast basket with integrated spider venting to promote airflow around the motor structure. An anodized aluminum voice-coil former, linear spider, and embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads support the driver’s mechanical design. Dual 12 AWG compression terminals provide a secure connection point for speaker wire.

Rockford Fosgate optimizes this model for sealed enclosures, with a recommended sealed volume of 0.7 cubic foot. It can also be used in a vented enclosure when built to the published 1.4 cubic foot recommendation and port specifications. Its linear spider incorporates embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads, while the voice coil uses an anodized aluminum former. Dual 12 AWG compression terminals are provided for speaker-wire connection.

Confirm that the installation location has at least 3.417 inches of mounting depth and supports a 9.125-inch cutout. For a sealed build, use the recommended 0.7-cubic-foot enclosure volume; a 1.4-cubic-foot vented enclosure is also specified with a 4-inch port, 13.7-inch port length, and 42 Hz tuning frequency. Wire both 2-ohm voice coils according to the amplifier’s supported load and use an active low-pass crossover in the recommended 80–100 Hz range.
