The Rockford Fosgate T1D410 is a 10-inch Power Series subwoofer designed to add controlled low-frequency output to a car audio system. Rockford Fosgate specifies the T1D410 primarily for compact ported enclosures, while also providing sealed-enclosure guidance. A 0.75 cu. ft. sealed enclosure is recommended for a compact installation, and a 1.50 cu. ft. ported enclosure is recommended for greater output around its tuning frequency. The included trim ring provides a finished appearance once the subwoofer is mounted in a suitably rigid enclosure.

Design & Installation

The T1D410 combines a rigid die-cast aluminum frame with an anodized aluminum heat-sinking dust cap and optimized pole and spider venting. Its cone is made from Kevlar fiber-reinforced paper, while dual progressive-roll poly-cotton spiders and fatigue-resistant stitched tinsel leads are used in the suspension system. A trim ring, socket-head screws, wood screws, and driver bit are supplied with the subwoofer.

Plan for a 9-1/8-inch mounting cutout and 6-1/2-inch mounting depth, plus clearance behind the motor. Rockford Fosgate recommends rigid 3/4-inch MDF construction with internal bracing, and enclosure volume should account for the subwoofer's 0.078 cu. ft. displacement. Use the SWIFT impedance jumper only as directed, select an amplifier compatible with the resulting 2-ohm or 8-ohm nominal load, and use a subsonic filter with vented enclosures.
