The Rockford Fosgate P1S2-10 is a 10-inch, single-voice-coil car subwoofer designed to add dedicated low-frequency output to an aftermarket audio system. This Punch P1 model uses a Kevlar-reinforced paper cone and dust cap to provide a rigid radiating surface for bass playback. The P1S2-10 has a 2.0-inch, four-layer voice coil with a high-temperature design and a spun-laced Nomex reinforcement collar. Its vented spider cavity helps promote voice-coil cooling during operation. The motor system incorporates an extended pole piece and bumped backplate to support the woofer's excursion capability.

This subwoofer can be used in either a sealed or vented enclosure, allowing the system design to be tailored to available space and bass preference. Rockford Fosgate specifies a 0.59 cubic-foot sealed enclosure as its recommended sealed alignment. For a vented build, the published alignment is 1.40 cubic feet tuned to 37.3 Hz.

With a 5.33-inch mounting depth and 9.125-inch mounting cutout diameter, the P1S2-10 should be measured against the available enclosure and vehicle clearance before installation. Its single 2-ohm voice coil presents a 2-ohm load when used by itself. Pair it with an amplifier that is stable at 2 ohms and appropriately rated for its 250-watt RMS handling.

Allow at least 5.33 inches of mounting depth behind the baffle and cut a 9.125-inch mounting opening. Rockford Fosgate recommends a 0.50 to 0.85 cubic-foot sealed enclosure range, with 0.59 cubic feet specified as the reference sealed volume; its vented recommendation is 1.40 cubic feet tuned to 37.3 Hz using one 3-inch by 8-inch port. For system setup, the manual recommends an active 80-100 Hz low-pass crossover at 12 dB per octave for subwoofer operation.
