Rockford Fosgate M1D2-10 10" Marine RGB Subwoofer

The Rockford Fosgate M1D2-10 is a 10-inch marine subwoofer designed to add low-frequency output to marine and motorsport audio systems. Its white finish and integrated RGB lighting suit installations where equipment is both heard and seen. It is sold individually for custom system builds.

This model uses dual 2-ohm voice coils and a VersaSwitch configuration system that selects a 1-ohm or 4-ohm nominal load. That flexibility helps simplify matching the subwoofer to a compatible amplifier. The 300-watt RMS power rating makes it appropriate for systems built around moderate-power marine amplification.

The M1D2-10 is engineered for clear, controlled bass response across its rated 20 Hz to 750 Hz frequency range. Its 91.5 dB sensitivity and 7 mm Xmax support substantial output from a compact 10-inch format. A 2-inch high-temperature Kapton voice-coil former is used to support sustained operation.

For exposed installations, the subwoofer uses Rockford Fosgate's Element Ready construction and carries an IP67 certification. UV-stable ASA frame and grille components, a mineral-filled polypropylene cone, Santoprene surround, and marine-grade terminals address the environmental demands of boats and outdoor powersports vehicles. A vented motor includes water-repelling nano-coated mesh.

Integrated Color Optix RGB LEDs provide configurable illumination when used with the separately sold PMX-RGB controller and RF Connect app. Integrated Deutsch and Amphenol connections support plug-and-play lighting connectivity, while conventional spade terminals remain available for speaker wiring. The M1D2-10 can serve as the bass foundation in a coordinated Rockford Fosgate Color Optix system.

Design & Installation

The M1D2-10 has a white UV-stable ASA plastic frame and grille, an injection-molded mineral-filled polypropylene cone with UV inhibitors, and a co-molded Santoprene VAST surround. Fully insulated silicone tinsel leads, zinc nickel-plated marine-grade brass terminals, linear synthetic-fiber spiders, and a vented motor are incorporated for marine-duty use. The included grille provides a finished appearance and helps protect the driver in exposed mounting locations.

Allow an 8.90-inch cutout and 4.23 inches of mounting depth when planning the installation. Use an amplifier compatible with the selected 1-ohm or 4-ohm VersaSwitch setting, and follow the amplifier manufacturer's minimum-impedance guidance. RGB lighting requires the separately sold Rockford Fosgate PMX-RGB controller and compatible Color Optix wiring accessories for app-based color control.
