The Rockford Fosgate M1D4-8 is an 8-inch marine subwoofer designed to add controlled low-frequency output to boats and outdoor audio systems. Color Optix RGB illumination is integrated into the subwoofer for coordinated lighting across a compatible Rockford Fosgate marine system. The lighting connects through integrated Deutsch/Amphenol connectors and is designed to work with a separately sold Rockford Fosgate Color Optix controller. With the compatible controller, lighting patterns can be adjusted through the RF Connect app.

For system planning, the M1D4-8 can be used in either sealed or ported enclosures. Design & Installation

The M1D4-8 combines a UV-stable ASA plastic frame and grille with a white mineral-filled polypropylene cone, Santoprene VAST surround, and marine-grade brass terminals with zinc-nickel plating. Its motor is vented and protected by a water-repelling nano-coated mesh screen. The subwoofer is IP67 certified and includes an illuminated protective grille.

Confirm a 7.10-inch cutout and at least 3.43 inches of mounting depth before installation. Use a properly sized sealed or ported enclosure, select the 2-ohm or 8-ohm VersaSwitch setting before connecting the amplifier, and match the amplifier to the 150-watt RMS rating.
