The Rockford Fosgate P300-8P is a self-contained powered subwoofer system built for adding low-frequency output without assembling a separate amplifier, enclosure, and woofer. It combines an 8-inch woofer, a ported MDF enclosure, and a 300-watt RMS Class-D amplifier in one compact package. This approach is well suited to factory or aftermarket audio systems that need more bass while conserving vehicle space.

Its slim enclosure measures 11.4 inches high, 17.6 inches wide, and 5.6 inches deep, making it a practical option for many trucks, small cars, hatchbacks, and sedans. The vented enclosure is designed to support efficient bass output from the compact 8-inch driver. A protective grille helps shield the woofer in active cargo or seating areas.

The built-in amplifier is matched to the enclosure's dedicated low-impedance woofer and delivers 300 watts RMS. A variable low-pass crossover, adjustable bass boost, and phase control help blend the subwoofer with the vehicle's full-range speakers. The included Punch Level Control lets the listener adjust bass level from the front of the vehicle.

The P300-8P supports both low-level RCA and high-level speaker inputs, allowing it to work with many aftermarket radios and factory audio systems. Its auto turn-on selector offers remote-trigger, DC-offset-sense, and audio-sense operating modes. This flexibility can simplify integration when a conventional remote turn-on lead is not available.

Quick-disconnect signal and power connections make the enclosure easier to remove when vehicle space is needed. The MDF enclosure uses a heat-activated vinyl finish designed to resist marks. Design & Installation

The P300-8P uses a 5/8-inch MDF vented enclosure with a heat-activated vinyl finish. Its dedicated 8-inch woofer uses dual 1-ohm voice coils, an injection-molded polypropylene cone and dust cap, and a stamped-steel basket with cooling vents. The integrated amplifier uses an extruded-aluminum heatsink and convection cooling, while the enclosure includes a heavy-duty mesh grille for woofer protection.

Install the enclosure securely in a location that preserves clearance for the driver, venting, wiring, and vehicle-seat movement. Use the high-level inputs for speaker-output integration or the RCA inputs for a compatible aftermarket source unit; the amplifier accepts 8 AWG power and ground wiring and an 18 AWG remote lead when using remote-trigger turn-on. Set the crossover, bass boost, phase control, and input level after installation to blend bass output with the rest of the system.
