A variable 50Hz to 120Hz crossover lets the installer set the upper-frequency limit of the subwoofer, while the level control adjusts its relative output. Bass Boost is adjustable from 0dB to +9dB at 70Hz for response tailoring.

Installation flexibility comes from both low-level RCA and high-level speaker-level inputs. This allows the BassPro SL2 to work with many aftermarket radios as well as factory systems that do not provide dedicated RCA outputs. When using high-level inputs, its input-load switch and audio-sense function support integration with compatible speaker-output signals.

For system refinement, the BassPro SL2 includes phase selection, onboard high-pass filters, and limiters. A wired remote bass level control is included for convenient adjustment from the driver’s position. The BassPro SL2 uses a proprietary shallow-profile 8-inch woofer in an ABS enclosure measuring just 2-13/16 inches high. Its integrated Class D amplifier is designed to operate efficiently, while onboard high-pass filters and limiters help manage operation at higher listening levels. The enclosure’s compact shape is intended for locations such as beneath a front seat where clearance permits.

Use the low-level inputs with a radio or processor that has RCA outputs, or use the high-level input harness with speaker-level outputs. The unit requires vehicle power, chassis ground, and a 15A fuse; JBL specifies at least 12 AWG wire for power and ground connections and at least 18 AWG for an optional remote turn-on lead. Mount it securely with the included screws in a location that does not interfere with vehicle operation, wiring, fuel lines, or seat movement.
