The Hertz DBA201F is an 8-inch active subwoofer enclosure designed for adding low-frequency output where vehicle space is limited. Its super-flat, sealed enclosure is intended for under-seat and other low-clearance installations. With its amplifier built in, it provides a compact bass upgrade without requiring a separate external subwoofer amplifier.

This model suits drivers who want to supplement factory or aftermarket speakers with controlled bass while preserving cargo space. It accepts both RCA preamp-level and speaker-level signals, allowing it to work with many OEM and aftermarket source units. The integrated auto turn-on options can simplify installation when a conventional remote turn-on lead is unavailable.

The DBA201F combines a 200 mm (8-inch) driver with a 220-watt RMS Class D amplifier stage. Its specified 32 Hz to 400 Hz subwoofer frequency response and adjustable low-pass filter support blending the enclosure with full-range door or dash speakers. A fixed subsonic filter is included to limit very low-frequency content.

Hertz uses FEM-optimized engineering for the super-flat enclosure and fits the driver with a high-density flux ferrite magnet and copper voice coil. The sealed design measures only 79 mm (3.11 inches) in its slimmest dimension. This makes the DBA201F a practical option where a conventional subwoofer box would take up too much room.

System tuning is handled from the onboard control panel, with adjustable gain, low-pass frequency, bass boost, and phase selection. An HRC 01 wired level controller is included for convenient output adjustment from the front of the vehicle. Plug-and-play Molex connectivity and the supplied harness also allow the enclosure to be disconnected when space is needed.

Hertz specifies FEM-optimized enclosure engineering to maximize driver output within the low-profile form factor. The enclosure weighs 4.3 kg (9.48 lb) and measures 345 x 245 x 79 mm.

Confirm that the intended location has at least the enclosure's 345 x 245 x 79 mm footprint and clearance for connections before installation. Connect it to a vehicle power and ground system, use either the RCA or speaker-level input as appropriate, and install a minimum 15A external fuse as shown in the manual. The supplied Velcro strips or mounting feet can be used to secure the enclosure, while the HRC 01 controller can be top-mounted or recessed using its included hardware.
