The Infinity BassLink SM2 is a self-powered 8-inch underseat subwoofer system designed to add low-frequency support where conventional subwoofer enclosures may take up too much room. The BassLink SM2 uses a proprietary shallow-profile 8-inch woofer in a custom-tuned ABS enclosure. Its Class D amplifier is engineered for efficient operation, helping minimize heat and electrical-system demand. High-pass filters and limiters are built in to support controlled operation at higher listening levels.

Installation flexibility comes from both line-level and high-level audio inputs. The high-level input section includes a load switch, while the audio-sense function can automatically turn the subwoofer on when connected to speaker-level outputs. A phase switch provides 0 and 180 degree settings to help blend bass output with the vehicle's existing speakers.

A wired remote bass level control is included for convenient adjustment from the driver's seat. The variable 50 Hz to 120 Hz crossover helps establish a smoother handoff between the subwoofer and full-range speakers. It is a practical option for adding bass to systems that need a compact, integrated solution rather than a separate amplifier and enclosure.

Design & Installation

The BassLink SM2 combines its shallow-profile woofer and amplifier in a custom-tuned, low-profile ABS enclosure. Its compact dimensions measure 13-9/16 inches by 9-7/8 inches by 2-13/16 inches, allowing it to suit installations where vertical clearance is limited. The enclosure includes a 15A fuse and comes with four mounting screws for secure installation.

Connect the BassLink SM2 to the vehicle battery, chassis ground, and either line-level or speaker-level source signals. A remote turn-on lead is required when using line-level inputs; when using high-level inputs, the Audio Sense switch can turn the unit on after it detects speaker signal. Check available mounting clearance and avoid drilling into vehicle wiring, brake lines, fuel lines, or the fuel tank; professional installation is recommended by Infinity.
