The Zoom MS-90LP+ is a compact stereo looper pedal made for building, practicing, arranging, and performing layered parts. It records a single stereo loop track per memory, allowing musicians to capture a progression, add overdubs, and develop a complete idea from the floor. It is suited to guitarists and bassists, while its stereo connections also support synthesizers, samplers, and keyboards.

Each memory can record a loop up to 90 minutes long, with total storage for 100 memories and 13 hours or more of recording time. Recorded phrases are stored as stereo 44.1 kHz, 32-bit floating-point WAV files. This makes the pedal useful for short repeating phrases as well as longer song sections, backing tracks, and performance material.

The MS-90LP+ uses dual A/D converters and 32-bit float signal processing. The converters automatically select the input gain path that provides the best input signal, supporting a wide dynamic range. Its recorded loop format also preserves resolution when loop levels are adjusted after recording.

Five dedicated footswitches provide direct control of loop record/play, undo/redo, stop, Loop FX, and rhythm functions. The dedicated STOP and UNDO controls help keep essential actions available without relying on double taps or long holds. A color-backlit LCD displays loop status, waveform position, and operating modes while playing.

Built-in rhythms and timing tools help turn a simple loop into a structured practice or live-performance setup. The pedal includes 68 rhythm patterns, a tempo range of 40 to 300 BPM, quantized recording with rhythms, and Rhythm Sync operation. Eight Loop FX add performance-oriented playback changes such as reverse, half speed, hold, and tape stop.

For expanded setups, the MS-90LP+ provides stereo L/R audio I/O, MIDI connection capability, and USB-C connectivity. USB supports data transfer for compatible loops and USB MIDI operation, while MIDI can support external memory changes and synchronization. Output Split routing can separate loop and rhythm signals across the left and right outputs for more flexible routing to amplifiers, mixers, or a PA.

Key Features

  • 90-Minute Loop Time: Record up to 90 minutes in one loop memory.
  • 100 Memory Locations: Store up to 100 loop memories with settings.
  • 32-Bit Float Audio: Records stereo WAV loops at 44.1 kHz.
  • Five Footswitches: Provides dedicated loop, undo, stop, effects, and rhythm control.
  • 68 Rhythm Patterns: Supplies built-in rhythmic accompaniment across multiple musical styles.
  • Stereo, MIDI, and USB-C: Supports stereo instruments, synchronization, and compatible file transfer.

Design & Installation

The MS-90LP+ uses a compact pedal-format layout measuring 133 mm deep, 79 mm wide, and 61 mm high. Its control surface combines five footswitches with dedicated knobs and a 160 x 128 dot-matrix LCD with color backlight. The screen uses visual status colors for recording, playback, and Loop FX use, while the waveform display helps show position within a loop.

Connect a mono instrument to the L/MONO input, or use both L and R inputs for stereo sources; connect the L/R outputs to an amplifier, mixer, audio interface, or PA as appropriate. Power the pedal with a compatible 9V DC, 500mA center-negative adapter, two AA batteries, or supported USB bus power. Use a USB-C data cable for file transfer or USB MIDI, and use the stereo mini MIDI connection when integrating external MIDI equipment.
