The BOSS RV-200 is a compact stereo reverb effects pedal for guitar and other compatible electronic instruments. It adds space, depth, and ambient texture to a dry signal, from short room-style reflections to long atmospheric trails. It is designed for players who want extensive reverb control without using a large multi-effects processor.

Twelve onboard reverb modes cover familiar sounds such as Room, Hall, Plate, and Spring, alongside more creative options including Shimmer, Slowverb, and Arpverb. The RV-200 can suit conventional guitar rigs, ambient pedalboards, keyboards, and stereo setups. Its effects can be adjusted directly with dedicated front-panel controls for core parameters.

The pedal uses custom BOSS DSP with 32-bit AD/DA conversion, 32-bit floating-point processing, and a 96 kHz sampling frequency. This processing platform supports detailed reverb textures and adjustable tone shaping through low and high controls. A six-stage Density setting provides another way to tailor the character and buildup of the reverb.

For live use, the RV-200 stores up to 127 user memories plus a Manual mode. Its two onboard footswitches can be assigned for performance functions, including Hold, Warp, and Twist effects. Selectable carryover can preserve reverb tails while changing memories or bypassing the effect.

Stereo input and output connections allow the RV-200 to fit naturally into mono or stereo pedalboard signal paths. External control is available through a control/expression jack and TRS MIDI input and output. It can run from three AA batteries or an optional BOSS PSA-S series AC adaptor.

Key Features

  • Twelve Reverb Modes: Includes standard, ambient, modulation-based, gated, and reverse-style reverb sounds.
  • Arpverb Mode: Adds a newly developed arpeggiated reverb texture for creative sound design.
  • Studio-Grade Processing: Uses 32-bit conversion, floating-point processing, and 96 kHz operation.
  • 127 User Memories: Save frequently used settings for quick recall during practice or performance.
  • Stereo I/O: Supports mono or stereo signal routing with wet/dry and dry-mute output options.
  • External Control Support: Connect compatible footswitches, expression pedals, or TRS MIDI equipment.

Design & Installation

The RV-200 uses the streamlined BOSS 200 Series pedal format, with a three-character LED display, dedicated knobs, two footswitches, and front-panel status indicators. BOSS does not specify the enclosure material in the published specifications. Its control layout provides direct access to reverb time, pre-delay, effect level, tone, mode, parameter, and density settings.

Connect an instrument or preceding pedal to INPUT A/MONO for a mono rig, or use both input and output channels for stereo operation. Place the pedal where reverb is desired in the signal chain, then connect an optional expression pedal, external footswitch, or TRS MIDI controller if added hands-free control is needed. Power it with the included three AA batteries or a separately sold BOSS PSA-S series adaptor.
