The BOSS GT-1000CORE is a compact guitar and bass effects processor designed to bring a complete amp-and-effects workflow to a pedalboard or studio setup. It combines amp processing, effects, routing, loop recording, USB audio/MIDI, and external-control support in one stompbox-sized unit. It is intended for players who want flexible signal processing without assembling a large collection of individual pedals.
Its processing architecture supports up to 24 simultaneous effects blocks in a patch, including two amp blocks, with series and parallel routing options. The processor provides 185 effect types and stores 250 user patches plus 250 preset patches. Fast patch switching and delay carryover help maintain continuity when moving between sounds.
The GT-1000CORE uses 96 kHz sampling, 32-bit AD/DA conversion, and 32-bit floating-point internal processing. BOSS AIRD technology is designed to tailor amp processing for different output destinations, including guitar amplifiers, power amps with guitar speakers, and full-range monitoring systems. This makes it suitable for direct-to-PA, recording, headphone, amplifier, and hybrid pedalboard applications.
Two send/return loops allow integration with external pedals, amplifier effects loops, four-cable-method rigs, or separate output feeds. The unit also includes 16 locations for loading WAV-format speaker impulse responses and a dedicated bass mode. Its onboard phrase looper supports up to 38 seconds in mono or 19 seconds in stereo for practice, writing, and live performance use.
For recording and editing, the GT-1000CORE operates as a USB audio/MIDI interface and works with BOSS Tone Studio on Windows and macOS. TRS MIDI, external footswitch, expression-pedal, and amp-control support allow it to expand with the rest of a rig. The compact 173 x 135 mm footprint makes it practical for use as a primary processor or as a high-capability addition to an existing pedalboard.

Design & Installation
The GT-1000CORE is a compact pedalboard-format processor measuring 173 mm wide, 135 mm deep, and 65 mm high including its rubber feet. Its control layout includes three onboard footswitches, five parameter knobs, a selector knob, an output-level knob, and a 256 x 80-dot graphic LCD. Four rubber feet are included for stable placement; BOSS does not specify the enclosure material in the published specifications.
Connect an instrument to the L/MONO input for a standard mono rig, or use the L/MONO and R inputs for stereo sources. Send the L/PHONES and R/MONO outputs to an amp, mixer, recording interface, or headphones as appropriate, and use the two send/return loops for external effects or amplifier-loop integration. Optional FS-5U, FS-6, FS-7, FV-500H, FV-500L, EV-30, and Roland EV-5 controllers can add hands-free control; TRS MIDI Type A cables are required for MIDI connections.

Can the GT-1000CORE be used with guitar and bass?
Yes. It is designed for guitar and bass processing and includes a dedicated mode for bass applications. BOSS also lists bass preamps and bass-focused effects in the product feature set.
Can I connect this processor directly to a PA or recording system?
Yes. The GT-1000CORE provides L/PHONES and R/MONO outputs, AIRD output settings for different destinations, and 16 WAV-format impulse-response locations. It also functions as a USB audio/MIDI interface for computer-based recording.
Can I use my existing pedals or an amplifier effects loop?
Yes. Two send/return loops support external effects, four-cable-method setups, or separate direct-output routing. The send and return connections use 1/4-inch phone jacks.
What is included in the box?
The included accessories are an AC adaptor, owner's manual, "USING THE UNIT SAFELY" leaflet, and four rubber feet. Footswitches, expression pedals, and TRS/MIDI cables are sold separately.
What MIDI cable does the GT-1000CORE require?
It uses 3.5 mm TRS MIDI Type A connections. Type A and Type B TRS MIDI cables are not compatible with each other, so the cable type should be verified before purchase.
Can GT-1000 patches be used with the GT-1000CORE?
Yes. BOSS states that patch data is mutually compatible between the GT-1000 and GT-1000CORE through BOSS Tone Studio or bulk dump. Parameters unavailable on one model are disabled.
