The BOSS GT-1000 is a floor-based guitar and bass amp/effects processor that combines amp modeling, effects processing, switching, expression control, and computer connectivity in one unit. It is designed to replace or streamline a traditional pedalboard while providing flexible routing for amplifiers, mixers, PA systems, headphones, and recording setups. With main and sub outputs, effects loops, MIDI, and USB, it can serve as the control center of a performance or studio rig.

This processor is suited to guitarists and bassists who need a broad range of sounds without carrying multiple individual pedals and amplifiers. Its dedicated bass mode supports bass-oriented applications, while its selectable output configurations help adapt the unit to different amplification and monitoring destinations. Players can organize sounds in user patches and access them from the onboard footswitches.

The GT-1000 operates at a 96 kHz sampling frequency with 32-bit AD conversion, 32-bit DA conversion, and 32-bit floating-point processing. It includes 185 effect types, AIRD amplifier processing, MDP effects, and patch-based routing options. Two amplifiers can be used within a single patch for switching, blending, or stereo sound setups.

BOSS AIRD technology is designed to tailor amp and cabinet behavior for the connected destination, including guitar amp inputs, power amps, guitar speakers, and full-range systems. The GT-1000 also provides independent AIRD Output Select settings for its 1/4-inch main outputs and XLR sub outputs. Six assignable control knobs, ten footswitches, color-configurable switch LEDs, and an integrated expression pedal support hands-on control during performance.

For recording and editing, the GT-1000 includes a multi-channel USB audio/MIDI interface and works with BOSS Tone Studio on computers and supported mobile devices. Bluetooth functionality allows wireless mobile editing where provided for the regional product version. The unit also offers 16 locations for loading WAV-format speaker impulse responses, allowing users to expand their cabinet sound library.

Key Features

  • 96 kHz Processing: High-resolution digital processing supports detailed amp and effect sounds.
  • AIRD Amplifiers: Output-select settings help adapt tones to amps, PA systems, and monitors.
  • 185 Effect Types: A broad onboard effects library reduces the need for separate pedals.
  • Flexible I/O: Main, sub, send/return, MIDI, USB, and control connections support complex rigs.
  • Integrated Performance Control: Ten footswitches, six knobs, and an expression pedal provide direct access.
  • USB And Bluetooth Editing: BOSS Tone Studio supports patch management and remote sound editing.

Design & Installation

The GT-1000 uses a metal floorboard chassis with a compact performance-oriented layout. Its low-profile footswitches, integrated expression pedal, backlit graphic LCD, dedicated buttons, and six rotary controls are arranged for stage use. Switch functions and LED colors can be configured to suit different playing workflows.

Connect a guitar or bass to the 1/4-inch input, then connect the main outputs to a guitar amp or mixer; use the L/MONO main output for a mono connection. The XLR sub outputs can feed a PA or other balanced destination, while the two send/return loops support external effects processors. Use the included AC adaptor for power, connect USB to a computer for audio/MIDI and editing, and add compatible external footswitches or expression pedals when additional control is needed.
