BOSS JB-2 Angry Driver Dual Overdrive Pedal

The BOSS JB-2 Angry Driver is a compact dual overdrive and distortion pedal for electric guitar. It brings two distinct drive voices into one pedalboard-ready unit, helping players cover lower-gain boost and overdrive sounds alongside higher-gain distortion. It is designed for guitarists who want flexible gain staging without using two separate pedals.

One side is based on the BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver, while the other is based on the JHS Pedals Angry Charlie. The BOSS voice is suited to expressive low-to-mid-gain sounds that respond to guitar volume and picking dynamics. The JHS voice provides a higher-gain character with a rich low end and thick midrange.

Three dual-concentric controls provide separate Drive, Tone, and Level adjustment for the two circuits. This allows each voice to be set independently before using either one alone or combining both. The six-position MODE control selects individual BOSS or JHS operation, series stacking in either order, parallel operation, or footswitch-selectable BOSS/JHS switching.

Series modes allow one drive circuit to feed the other, making the pedal useful for layered gain structures. Parallel mode runs the two circuits together and lets their controls interact as a combined sound. A multicolor CHECK indicator identifies the active circuit state with blue for BOSS, red for JHS, and purple when both circuits are active.

The JB-2 fits naturally into a guitar rig between the instrument and amplifier, or as part of a larger pedalboard. Its REMOTE jack supports compatible external footswitches and effects switching systems for expanded control of modes and bypass. It can run from the included 9 V alkaline battery or an optional BOSS PSA-series AC adaptor.

Connect the guitar to the INPUT jack and run the OUTPUT jack to an amplifier or the next compatible device in the signal path.
