The Zoom MS-70CDR+ is a compact multi-effects pedal focused on chorus, delay, reverb, modulation, dynamics, filters, and ambient sound design. It brings a broad effects library into one stompbox for players who want to reduce pedalboard space while retaining flexible tone shaping. Guitarists can use it in front of an amp or as part of a larger pedal chain, while keyboard and synthesizer players can use its stereo connections for processing line-level instruments.
Its sound palette ranges from motion-producing modulation and chorus to rhythmic delays and expansive reverbs. The library includes effects suited to subtle enhancement as well as more layered, atmospheric textures. Separate dynamics and filter effects provide additional tools for level control, EQ-oriented shaping, and creative processing.
The MS-70CDR+ can combine up to six effects in a single patch, with the order freely adjustable. This lets players build practical chains such as compression into chorus and delay, or create more detailed ambient setups with modulation, filtering, delay, and reverb. It stores up to 100 user patch memories, while 80 preset patches provide starting points for setup and experimentation.
Zoom equips the pedal with newly designed analog circuitry, 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion, and 32-bit signal processing. Stereo L/R inputs and outputs support stereo rigs and make the pedal useful with instruments such as synthesizers as well as guitars. The color-coded LCD backlight changes with the selected effect category, helping make navigation clearer while editing.
Four encoder knobs and four foot-operable Cross Key switches provide direct access to patch and effect navigation. An onboard chromatic tuner offers visual feedback through the display backlight, and USB Type-C supports USB bus power, firmware updates, Handy Guitar Lab operation, and USB MIDI patch changes. With battery, USB, and DC power options, the MS-70CDR+ fits equally well into pedalboards, desktop production setups, and portable performance rigs.

- Flexible Power: Operates from AA batteries, USB bus power, or compatible DC power.
Design & Installation
The MS-70CDR+ uses a metal frame designed for regular live-performance use. Its compact stompbox format combines a 160 × 128 dot-matrix LCD, four encoder knobs, four Cross Key switches, a footswitch, and an on/off indicator. The color LCD backlight changes by effect category to aid visual navigation.
Connect an instrument or previous effect pedal to the L/MONO input for mono use, or use both L and R jacks for stereo sources. Connect the L/MONO output for a mono destination or both outputs to preserve stereo routing; the pedal can feed an amp, another effect, or compatible line-level equipment. Power it with two AA batteries, USB Type-C bus power, or a Zoom AD-16 9V DC, 500mA, center-negative adapter; a data-capable USB Type-C cable is required for Handy Guitar Lab operation and firmware updates.

Can I use the MS-70CDR+ with a keyboard or synthesizer?
Yes. Its stereo inputs accept passive and active guitars as well as line-level devices such as synthesizers. Use both L/R inputs and outputs when your instrument and destination are set up for stereo.
How many effects can run at once?
A patch can contain up to six effects, and their order can be changed. Some effect combinations can reach the pedal's processing limit, which causes a processing-overflow warning and requires changing an effect.
What power supply does it need?
It can run on two AA alkaline, lithium, or rechargeable NiMH batteries, USB bus power, or a Zoom AD-16 adapter. The specified adapter requirement is 9V DC, 500mA, center-negative.
Can it be used in a mono pedalboard?
Yes. Use the L/MONO input and L/MONO output for mono operation. The L/R connections are available when you want to integrate the pedal into a stereo signal path.
Can I edit patches from a phone or computer?
The pedal works with the Handy Guitar Lab for MS-70CDR+ app on iPhone and iPad for patch management and effect editing or addition. Its USB Type-C port also connects to computers for firmware updates and supports USB MIDI patch changes.
Does it include a tuner?
Yes. The built-in chromatic tuner uses the color display backlight for visual tuning feedback. It supports standard guitar tunings as well as open and drop tunings.
