The Zoom MS-60B+ is a compact multi-effects pedal designed specifically for bass guitar. It brings amp and cabinet modeling, preamp tones, modulation, dynamics, filters, pitch effects, ambience, and more into one pedalboard-friendly unit. It is intended for bassists who want to build and recall complete sounds without carrying multiple individual pedals.
The MS-60B+ provides more than 95 bass-focused processing options, including 75 effects, 11 preamp models, and 11 amp/cabinet models. Up to six effects, amps, and preamps can be combined in a single patch, allowing players to arrange their signal path to suit a song or playing style. It also includes 85 factory presets and space for a total of 100 patch memories.
Its updated analog circuitry is designed for a flat phase response, helping preserve note attack and low-frequency definition through the pedal. The digital processing platform uses 44.1 kHz sampling, 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion with 128x oversampling, and 32-bit signal processing. This makes it suitable for bassists who need a broad range of tones while maintaining a controlled, full-range signal path.
For live rigs, the L/R outputs support stereo effects and configurable split output routing. The right-channel output position can be set independently for each patch, enabling a processed amp/IR path for one destination and a different signal point for another. This flexibility can be useful when feeding an amplifier and a PA-oriented signal path at the same time.
The pedal uses a 160 x 128 dot-matrix LCD with a color-changing backlight that identifies effect categories while editing. Four encoder knobs, foot-operable Cross Key switches, an on/off footswitch, and an onboard chromatic tuner keep essential controls accessible from the pedalboard. USB-C adds USB MIDI program-change support, firmware updating, USB bus power capability, and connection to the Handy Guitar Lab app for iOS/iPadOS.

Design & Installation
The MS-60B+ uses a compact single-stompbox design measuring 133 mm deep by 79 mm wide by 61 mm high. Its published specifications do not identify the enclosure material, but the layout places the LCD, four parameter encoders, directional Cross Key switches, status indicator, and footswitch on the top panel for direct access. The display backlight changes color by effect category, and its brightness and contrast can be adjusted in the unit settings.
Connect a bass or another pedal to the standard mono INPUT jack, then connect the L/R outputs to an amplifier, another effect, or a stereo rig; use the MONO output for a mono connection. Power can come from two AA batteries, a 9V DC center-negative Zoom AD-16 adapter rated at 500 mA, or USB bus power through USB-C. For computer, iPhone, or iPad connection, use a USB-C cable that supports data transfer; USB MIDI can receive program changes for remote patch selection.

Can the MS-60B+ be used with a normal bass amplifier?
Yes. Connect the pedal's output to a bass amplifier or another effect using a standard mono phone cable. For a mono setup, Zoom specifies using the MONO output.
Can I create a separate PA and amplifier signal?
Yes. The L/R outputs support split output signals, and the right-channel output position can be set separately for each patch. Zoom describes this as a way to send an amp/IR-equipped signal to a PA while sending a signal without amps/IRs to an amplifier.
How many effects can be active in one patch?
A patch can contain up to six effects, including effect processors, amp models, and preamp models. The pedal supports up to 100 patch memories in total.
What power options does the pedal support?
It can run on two AA alkaline, lithium, or rechargeable NiMH batteries, a 9V DC 500 mA center-negative Zoom AD-16 adapter, or supported USB bus power through USB-C. Estimated battery life is about 7 hours with alkaline batteries, 6.5 hours with 1900 mAh NiMH batteries, and 14 hours with lithium batteries.
Does it support MIDI patch changes?
Yes. The MS-60B+ supports USB MIDI program changes for remote patch selection. Its receive channel can be set from channels 1 through 16 or set to OMNI.
Can I edit the pedal from a phone or tablet?
The MS-60B+ works with the Handy Guitar Lab for MS-60B+ app on iOS/iPadOS. A USB-C data cable is required, and devices with Lightning connectors require a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
