The Zoom MS-200D+ is a compact digital multi-effects pedal built around distortion, overdrive, fuzz, boost, and other drive-focused guitar sounds. It gives guitarists a broad collection of gain textures in a single stompbox-sized unit, reducing the need to carry multiple individual pedals. With up to two effects available at once, it can combine sounds such as a booster and drive within one patch.

This pedal is suited to players who want to explore multiple drive voices for practice, recording, rehearsals, or live rigs without rebuilding a pedalboard for every sound. Its 200 built-in effects include classic-style drive tones along with Zoom original drive and distortion effects. Patch memories store selected effects, their order, on/off states, and parameter settings for repeatable recall.

The MS-200D+ is designed for gain staging flexibility, allowing players to create clean boosts, low-gain overdrive, saturated distortion, fuzz-forward textures, or stacked drive combinations. Its signal path supports two simultaneous effects, so a boost can be placed with another drive effect as needed. The unit also provides a master output level for matching the pedal to an amplifier or the next device in the signal chain.

A color 160 × 128 dot-matrix LCD and four encoder knobs provide direct access to effect parameters and operating settings. Four foot-operable Cross Key switches allow memory and scrolling functions to be used without bending down. An onboard tuner supports chromatic operation as well as standard guitar, open, and DADGAD tuning options.

The MS-200D+ can work as a compact standalone drive section in front of a guitar amplifier, as part of an existing pedalboard, or as a flexible source of extra gain colors for a recording setup. It has standard mono input and output jacks for conventional instrument-cable connections. USB-C supports firmware updates, Handy Guitar Lab connectivity, and USB bus power when used with a compatible data-capable cable.

  • Integrated Guitar Tuner: Supports chromatic tuning plus standard guitar and selected alternate tunings.
  • Flexible Power Options: Runs from two AA batteries, a compatible 9V DC adapter, or supported USB bus power.

Design & Installation

The MS-200D+ uses a compact single-stompbox format with a color 160 × 128 dot-matrix LCD, four parameter encoder knobs, directional Cross Key switches, a footswitch, and standard mono phone jacks. Its 133 mm deep, 79 mm wide, and 61 mm high enclosure is intended to fit easily into compact guitar pedalboard layouts. The display presents effect names and parameter values while the color backlight helps distinguish drive and distortion types.

Connect a guitar or other compatible instrument source to the INPUT jack and connect the OUTPUT jack to an amplifier or another effect using standard mono instrument cables. Power the pedal with two AA batteries, a Zoom AD-16 9V DC center-negative adapter, or supported USB bus power through its USB-C port. For battery operation, inserting a plug into the INPUT jack turns the unit on; disconnect the input cable when finished to turn it off.
