VOXX CRIMESTOPPER PARKPMCU Front/Rear Parking Assist

The VOXX CrimeStopper PARKPMCU is a universal parking-assist system designed to provide audible proximity alerts while maneuvering. It can be configured for either front or rear use, helping drivers judge distance to objects that may be difficult to see from the driver’s seat. Four ultrasonic sensors monitor the selected end of the vehicle and increase alert urgency as an obstacle gets closer.

This system is suited to cars, SUVs, and trucks with plastic or metal bumpers. It is a practical upgrade for vehicles without factory parking sensors or for drivers who want added awareness when parking in tight spaces. The selectable front or rear configuration supports a range of installation goals without requiring separate systems for each position.

The PARKPMCU communicates distance through an included adjustable-volume audible alert rather than a built-in visual display. Its alert pattern progresses from spaced beeps to faster warnings and a continuous tone as the vehicle approaches an object. This gives the driver a simple, attention-friendly indication of nearby obstacles.

CrimeStopper equips the system with paintable ultrasonic sensors, sensor-height settings, and learning functions intended to account for vehicle-mounted accessories. The control unit can be adjusted for vehicles with a rear hitch, spare-tire carrier, or bike rack to help reduce unwanted alerts. Sensor-only IP68 waterproofing supports exterior bumper installation in normal vehicle operating conditions.

The PARKPMCU can operate as a stand-alone audible parking assist or be expanded with an optional PARK-PLED1 or PARK-PLED2 visual display. Its long sensor and alert-extension wiring supports installations in larger vehicles. A supplied hole saw and paint tray help prepare the sensors for a cleaner, vehicle-matched installation.

Design & Installation

The system uses four compact ultrasonic sensors designed for plastic or metal bumpers. The sensors are paintable and sensor-only rated IP68 for water resistance. A paint tray is included, and the system includes an 18.8 mm hole saw for sensor openings.

Install the sensors evenly across the chosen bumper at a recommended height of 0.45 to 0.60 m (1.5 to 2 ft.) from the ground. Front installations activate from the brake input, while rear installations activate in reverse; configuration is selected at the control unit. The included system is audible-alert based, while PARK-PLED1 and PARK-PLED2 visual displays are optional accessories.
