XtremeVision XV-30LCC License Plate Frame Backup Camera

The XtremeVision XV-30LCC is a wired rear backup camera integrated into a U.S.-style license plate frame. It is designed to provide a rearward view while reversing, helping drivers see areas behind the vehicle that may not be visible in the mirrors. Its universal license-plate-frame format is intended for cars, vans, buses, and SUVs using a standard U.S. license plate holder.

The camera uses a 170-degree lens for a broad rearward field of view. This wide-angle perspective is useful for monitoring obstacles, parking spaces, curbs, and vehicles behind the car. The camera position can be adjusted up to 30 degrees by loosening its adjustment screw, allowing the view to be aimed for the vehicle's mounting position.

For low-light use, the XV-30LCC is equipped with eight infrared LEDs and is rated for 0.05 lux illumination. Its 640 x 480 capture resolution and 480 TV-line rating are intended for conventional composite-video rear-camera displays. Automatic white balance, automatic gain control, and automatic backlight compensation support image adjustment across changing lighting conditions.

The XV-30LCC operates from a 12V DC vehicle electrical system and uses less than 1 watt of power. It provides composite video output at 1.0 Vp-p with a 75-ohm output impedance. PAL and NTSC video-system support allows it to work with compatible rear-camera displays or head units.

Its license plate frame combines the camera with a chrome-plated metal frame, reducing the need for a separate camera bracket. The camera is rated IP66-IP67 for resistance to dust and water exposure, and its stated operating range is -20°C to 70°C. It is suited to a vehicle upgrade using a compatible wired video input and a properly connected reverse-camera power circuit.

Design & Installation

The XV-30LCC uses a heavy-duty chrome-plated license plate frame with an integrated camera housing. The camera is designed for exterior mounting and carries an IP66-IP67 water- and dust-resistance rating. Its operating-temperature specification supports use in a range of typical outdoor vehicle conditions.

Install the frame at the rear license plate location, adjust the camera angle as needed, and route the camera's wired video connection to a compatible composite-video display or head unit. The camera requires 12V DC power and should be connected according to the vehicle and display manufacturer's wiring guidance. Verify that the receiving display supports the selected PAL or NTSC camera signal before installation.
