The Kenwood DRV-A610WDP is a two-camera dash cam system designed to document the road ahead and behind your vehicle. It combines a 4K front camera with a Quad HD rear camera for continuous dual-channel recording. This package is suited to drivers who want recorded evidence for daily commuting, road trips, work vehicles, trucks, or RVs.

The front camera uses an 8.3-megapixel Sony STARVIS IMX415 image sensor and records at 3840 x 2160 resolution. Its wide dynamic range processing is intended to maintain detail across bright and dark portions of a scene. The rear camera records at 2560 x 1440 and uses HDR processing to help handle changing lighting conditions.

Built-in GPS, a G-sensor, and optional audio recording add useful context to recorded files. When an impact is detected, the G-sensor can identify and preserve the associated recording. GPS information can be reviewed with compatible playback software and the KENWOOD DASH CAM MANAGER app.

Wireless Link provides access to live-view functions, recorded clips, settings, and firmware updates through a compatible smartphone. The included 64GB microSD card lets the system begin recording without requiring a separate card purchase. Loop recording continuously replaces older unprotected footage as storage fills.

The DRV-A610WDP is built around a compact front camera with a 2-inch color TFT display and a weather-resistant IP67 rear camera. A 26-foot rear-camera cable supports installation in cars, trucks, and RVs, including rear-window or exterior mounting positions. For expanded parked-vehicle recording functions, the optional Kenwood CA-DR1130 hardwire kit is required.

Design & Installation

The front camera uses a compact chassis with a 2-inch full-color TFT display, built-in microphone, built-in speaker, GPS receiver, G-sensor, and supercapacitor. The supercapacitor provides enough reserve power to close a recording file properly if vehicle power is lost. The rear camera carries an IP67 dust- and water-resistance rating and includes an adjustable mounting arrangement.

Mount the front camera where it has an unobstructed forward view while avoiding interference with the driver's view. Route the included 26-foot power-and-video cable to the rear camera, which may be mounted at the rear windshield or in an exterior location. The supplied vehicle power connection supports 12V and 24V applications; install the optional CA-DR1130 hardwire kit when Parking Mode Recording or Motion Detection Recording is desired.
