The Kenwood DRV-A310W is a compact front-facing dash camera designed to create a clear video record of daily drives and road incidents. It records in Full HD and includes built-in GPS and a G-sensor to add useful driving context to recorded files. Its small footprint and windshield-mounted format make it suited to drivers who want documentation without adding a large screen or receiver to the dashboard.

A 2.0-megapixel Galaxy Core GC2093 image sensor records 1920 x 1080 video at 30 frames per second. HDR and WDR processing help the camera manage bright backlighting and darker areas within the same scene. The F1.8 lens provides a 136-degree diagonal field of view for broad forward-road coverage.

The DRV-A310W automatically starts and stops recording with the vehicle, while loop recording replaces the oldest unprotected files when card capacity is reached. Its built-in G-sensor can detect an impact and protect the related recording from ordinary overwrite. GPS information can record speed, latitude, and longitude alongside video data.

Wireless Link connectivity works with the Kenwood Dash Cam Manager app for live preview, camera control, video review, downloads, settings adjustments, and supported over-the-air firmware updates. The camera also has a 2-inch color TFT display, built-in microphone, and built-in speaker for direct operation and playback. For desktop viewing, recorded files can be accessed with Kenwood Video Player on compatible Windows and macOS computers.

The DRV-A310W can serve as a straightforward front camera or become part of a two-channel recording setup with the optional Kenwood KCA-R110 Full HD rear camera. An optional CA-DR1130 hardwire kit enables parking-mode and motion-detection recording when the vehicle is off. This upgrade path allows owners to add rear coverage and parked-vehicle monitoring without replacing the front camera.

Design & Installation

The DRV-A310W uses a compact dash-camera body with a 2-inch full-color TFT display, tactile controls, built-in microphone, and built-in speaker. A supercapacitor provides enough reserve power to close a video file properly if vehicle power is lost. The camera measures 2.3 x 1.68 x 0.96 inches with its bracket attached and weighs 65 grams.

Install the camera on the windshield using the supplied adhesive mount, then power it with the included 13.1-foot car power cable and USB Type-A car charger. A microSDXC or microSDHC card from 8GB to 256GB is required and should be formatted in the camera before first use. Add the optional KCA-R110 for rear recording, or install the optional CA-DR1130 hardwire kit when parking-mode or motion-detection recording is needed.
