Its TA4F connector is intended for use with compatible Shure wireless bodypack transmitters.

Unlike an omnidirectional headset microphone, the SM31FH uses a cardioid pickup pattern. This directional pattern is designed to prioritize the wearer’s voice while helping reduce pickup from the sides and rear. The tailored 45 Hz to 20 kHz response supports clear, intelligible spoken vocals for classes, coaching, and presentations.

The headset uses moisture-repelling hydrophobic materials around the microphone cartridge to help protect it in humid and high-perspiration applications. This construction addresses a common challenge for fitness microphones: exposure to sweat and moisture over repeated use. A supplied windscreen helps reduce plosive, breath, and wind noise.

A lightweight wireframe headset and flexible gooseneck help the microphone stay close to the intended speaking position. The gooseneck allows the capsule to be adjusted for placement and isolation without requiring a handheld microphone. Design & Installation

The SM31FH-TQG combines a low-profile wireframe headset with a flexible boom and moisture-repelling cartridge construction. Its electret condenser capsule uses a cardioid pattern, while the lightweight 60 g design is intended for extended active wear. The microphone includes two windscreens and a cable clip.

For setup, position the headset securely, adjust the gooseneck so the microphone sits near the corner of the mouth, and connect the TA4F plug to a compatible Shure wireless bodypack transmitter. Route and secure the 1.1 m cable with the included clip as needed. The bodypack transmitter and wireless receiver are sold separately; after perspiration exposure, remove the windscreen, wipe the microphone with a damp non-abrasive cloth, and allow it to air dry before storage.
