The Shure BLX14R/MX53-H9 is a rack-mount wireless presenter system built around the BLX4R receiver, BLX1 bodypack transmitter, and MX153 earset microphone. It provides a hands-free speech solution for installed sound, corporate presentations, classrooms, houses of worship, and live A/V applications. The MX153 subminiature earset places the microphone close to the speaker's mouth, helping maintain consistent voice level while leaving both hands free. Its omnidirectional electret-condenser capsule is designed for clear spoken-word reproduction and has no proximity effect. The lightweight over-ear format is suited to presenters who need discreet microphone placement and stable positioning during movement.

The BLX wireless platform combines analog UHF transmission with a straightforward receiver interface for practical everyday operation. QuickScan frequency selection helps locate an available channel, while the receiver's display provides group, channel, RF-strength, and audio-level information. System audio response is rated at 50 Hz to 15 kHz and is dependent on the microphone type in use.

The BLX1 bodypack uses two AA alkaline batteries and is rated for up to 14 hours of operation. Its adjustable gain helps accommodate different speaking levels, and its TA4F input accepts the included MX153 earset directly. With a rated line-of-sight working range of up to 300 feet, the system is designed for flexible placement within a presentation or sound-reinforcement space.

The half-rack BLX4R receiver is intended for rack installation and provides both balanced XLR microphone-level and 1/4-inch instrument-level audio outputs. Design & Installation

The BLX4R receiver uses a molded ABS and steel housing, pairing a compact half-rack format with detachable BNC antennas. The BLX1 bodypack has a molded ABS housing, while the MX153 uses a flexible over-ear design with a Kevlar-reinforced soft-flex cable. The earset supplied with this system is the tan MX153T/O-TQG variant.

Mount the receiver using the included single- or dual-rack hardware, then connect its XLR or 1/4-inch output to a compatible mixer, powered loudspeaker, or amplifier. Install the two included AA batteries in the BLX1, connect the earset's TA4F plug, and match transmitter and receiver group and channel settings after scanning. Position the earset capsule about 1/2 inch from the corner of the mouth and keep antennas clear of obstructions for practical RF performance.
