The sE Electronics V7 RED is a wired dynamic handheld microphone designed for live vocals, speech, broadcasting, podcasting, and instrument miking. Its supercardioid pickup pattern helps focus on the source in front of the microphone while reducing pickup from surrounding stage sound. It is a practical choice for performers, presenters, houses of worship, rehearsal spaces, and recording setups that use XLR microphone inputs.

The V7 RED is voiced for a clear, open presentation with a 40 Hz to 19 kHz frequency range. Its custom DMC7 dynamic capsule uses an aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet assembly. This combination supports detailed vocal capture while retaining the durability and straightforward setup associated with dynamic microphones.

A supercardioid polar pattern is useful in monitoring-heavy live environments where off-axis sound control matters. It can help reduce bleed from nearby instruments and stage monitors when the microphone is positioned correctly. For speech and vocals, the V7 RED can also be used close to the source for a direct, controlled sound.

The microphone uses a patented integrated shockmount that decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration to help reduce handling noise. An internal windscreen helps reduce plosive sounds and wind noise during close vocal use. The included spare red windscreen lets users change the internal grille appearance from the factory-installed black version.

Built for handheld use, the V7 RED combines an all-metal zinc-alloy chassis with a beveled spring-steel grille. The beveled grille edge is designed to help keep the microphone from rolling when set down. With its 3-pin male XLR output, it integrates with compatible microphone cables, mixers, PA systems, audio interfaces, and microphone preamps.

Key Features

  • Dynamic DMC7 Capsule: Custom dynamic element with an aluminum voice coil for vocal and instrument use.
  • Supercardioid Pattern: Focuses pickup toward the sound source and helps reduce surrounding stage sound.
  • Integrated Shockmount: Helps isolate the capsule from handling vibration and mechanical rumble.
  • Internal Windscreen: Helps reduce plosives and wind noise during close microphone technique.
  • All-Metal Construction: Zinc-alloy body and spring-steel grille support regular stage use.
  • 3-Pin XLR Output: Connects to compatible mixers, interfaces, preamps, and PA systems.

Design & Installation

The V7 RED has a red-finished all-metal body, a durable zinc-alloy chassis, and a beveled spring-steel mesh grille. Its internal shockmount is built into the microphone body, while the grille contains a replaceable internal windscreen. The gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector provides the microphone’s balanced output connection.

Mount the microphone in the included clip on a compatible microphone stand, using the included thread adapter when needed. For handheld performance, connect its male XLR output to a compatible XLR microphone cable and then to a mixer, PA system, microphone preamp, or audio interface. Aim the front of the microphone toward the voice or instrument, and position stage monitors to account for its supercardioid pickup pattern.
