Mogami GOLD STUDIO-10 10' XLR Microphone Cable $87.95
Bundle total: $286.95

The sE Electronics V7 GOLD is a wired handheld dynamic microphone designed for live vocals, speech, broadcasting, podcasting, and instrument capture. Its supercardioid pickup pattern helps focus on the intended source while reducing pickup from surrounding stage sound. The 24-carat gold-plated finish gives this version a distinctive appearance while retaining the core V7 performance platform.

This microphone is suited to singers, presenters, content creators, and engineers who need an XLR vocal microphone with strong source isolation. Its dynamic capsule does not require external power, making it appropriate for standard microphone inputs on mixers, PA systems, audio interfaces, and preamps. It can also be used on electric guitar cabinets and drums where a focused dynamic microphone is useful.

The V7 GOLD uses sE Electronics' DMC7 dynamic capsule with an aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet. It has a 40 Hz to 19 kHz frequency range and a stated sensitivity of 2.0 mV/Pa. Its sound is intended to provide an open, detailed vocal presentation without relying on a condenser-microphone power supply.

A supercardioid polar pattern provides tighter side rejection than a conventional cardioid pattern, helping reduce bleed from nearby monitors and instruments. This can support higher usable monitor level when the microphone is aimed correctly and positioned behind PA speakers. Like other close-address microphones, working closer to the grille increases low-frequency proximity effect.

The V7 GOLD is built for regular stage handling with an all-metal zinc-alloy body, a beveled spring-steel grille, and a patented integrated shockmount. The shockmount decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration to help limit handling and rumble noise. A switchable internal windscreen helps manage wind noise and vocal plosives.

For a complete setup, connect the V7 GOLD to a compatible three-pin XLR microphone input using a standard XLR cable. The included mic clip and thread adapter allow stand mounting, while the pouch supports transport and storage. It is a direct wired-microphone choice for PA systems, recording chains, streaming rigs, and rehearsal spaces.

Key Features

  • Supercardioid Pattern: Helps isolate the intended voice or instrument from nearby stage sound.
  • DMC7 Dynamic Capsule: Uses an aluminum voice coil for detailed, natural source capture.
  • Patented Shockmount: Helps reduce handling vibration and low-frequency rumble.
  • All-Metal Construction: Zinc-alloy housing supports regular live-performance use.
  • Switchable Windscreen: Helps control plosives and unwanted wind noise.
  • Gold-Plated XLR Contacts: Provides a durable three-pin wired microphone connection.

Design & Installation

The V7 GOLD has a gold-finished all-metal body made from durable zinc alloy. Its spring-steel grille is corrosion-resistant and dent-resistant, and the grille's beveled profile helps keep the microphone from rolling when set down. The integrated capsule suspension is designed to reduce mechanically transmitted noise during handheld use.

Connect the microphone's three-pin male XLR output to a mixer, PA system, preamp, or audio interface with a suitable XLR microphone cable; a cable is not listed among the included accessories. Aim the front of the microphone toward the performer or source, keep PA speakers behind the microphone position, and use the supplied mic clip and thread adapter for stand mounting. The included black and yellow internal windscreens can be swapped to suit the desired appearance.
