The NTG3B uses a slim 19 mm diameter body measuring 255 mm long and weighing 163 g. Its matte-black finish provides a subdued appearance for production environments. A protective storage cylinder and padded ZP2 zip pouch are included for carrying and storage.

Connect the microphone's balanced 3-pin XLR output to a compatible preamp, recorder, mixer, interface, or camera XLR input that provides 48V phantom power at a minimum of 5 mA. Mount it with the included RM5 adjustable microphone clip, or use an appropriate shock mount and boom pole for location work. Use the included windshield for basic wind protection, and consider additional wind protection for more exposed outdoor conditions.
