The Rockford Fosgate YXZ-STAGE1 is a receiver-and-dash-kit upgrade package for select 2016-2021 Yamaha YXZ models. It adds a dedicated, weather-ready audio control center where the vehicle's factory dash layout can accommodate the included mounting solution. The package combines the PMX-2 compact digital media receiver with the RFYXZ-PMXDK Yamaha-specific dash kit and wiring hardware.

This Stage 1 package is intended for Yamaha YXZ owners who want to add source control, radio reception, and music streaming without building a complete amplified speaker system at the same time. The PMX-2 provides four amplified speaker channels for a basic system, while its preamp outputs support later expansion with external amplifiers. It is a practical starting point for a staged UTV audio installation.

The PMX-2 delivers 25 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms and supports 2-ohm speaker loads for its stated peak-power rating. Its audio controls include a 7-band graphic EQ, Punch EQ processing, adjustable crossover modes, and independent subwoofer-level control. These controls let the source unit be tailored to speakers now and to amplified speaker or subwoofer additions later.

For music and radio playback, the receiver includes Bluetooth wireless streaming, a rear USB connection with charging, a rear auxiliary input, and AM, FM, and weather-band tuning. The 2.7-inch color TFT display uses auto-dimming backlighting, while the front panel is rated IPX6 for exposure to demanding outdoor environments. The receiver is designed for motorsports and marine-style installations rather than conventional CD playback.

The included RFYXZ-PMXDK dash kit is custom molded for the Yamaha YXZ application and supplies the dash bezel, receiver housings, brackets, harnesses, and installation hardware needed for the source-unit installation. A pre-terminated vehicle harness helps simplify connection to the YXZ platform. An antenna is not included, so one is required to use the receiver's AM/FM/weather-band tuner.

The RFYXZ-PMXDK dash bezel is designed to match the Yamaha YXZ dash application and includes dedicated PMX-2 and PMX-0 receiver housings.

Installation uses the included dash bezel, mounting hardware, power harness, PMX-2 harness, PMX-0 harness with inline 15-amp fuse, bracket, grommet, and connectors. Verify vehicle fitment before installation, secure all wiring away from moving or hot components, and add a compatible antenna separately if tuner reception is needed. The receiver's built-in amplification can operate a basic speaker setup, while its RCA outputs provide a straightforward path to external amplifiers and a subwoofer.
