The Rockford Fosgate P1-2X12 is a loaded dual-12-inch subwoofer enclosure built for adding dedicated low-frequency output to a car audio system. It combines two Punch P1S4-12 single-voice-coil subwoofers in a factory-built vented cabinet. The enclosure arrives internally wired as a 2-ohm load, simplifying amplifier matching and system installation.

This enclosure is intended for listeners who want a straightforward bass upgrade without designing or building a custom box. The two 4-ohm single-voice-coil woofers are wired in parallel inside the enclosure to create the final 2-ohm nominal load. The system is rated for 1,000 watts maximum power handling.

The cabinet uses 5/8-inch MDF construction and high-density carpet covering for a durable, finished appearance in a trunk or cargo area. Its proprietary high-flow, low-noise port is designed to move air efficiently while reducing port turbulence. High-current binding posts provide a single external connection point for the prewired enclosure.

The P1-2X12 works as the bass section of a complete aftermarket audio system. Design & Installation

The enclosure is constructed from 5/8-inch medium-density fiberboard and covered in high-density carpet. It houses two 12-inch P1S4-12 woofers with Kevlar-reinforced paper cones, NBR surrounds, and steel baskets. The vented design includes a proprietary high-flow, low-noise port and high-current binding posts for the external speaker connection.

Mount the enclosure securely in a trunk or cargo area, allowing the port and woofers adequate clearance. Connect the amplifier's positive speaker output to the enclosure's red terminal and the negative output to the black terminal; the installation documentation specifies 16- to 12-AWG speaker cable. Use a 2-ohm-stable amplifier, keep amplifier output within the enclosure's RMS rating range, and use an active low-pass crossover for integration with the rest of the system.
