Design & Installation

The M2D2-12I uses an injection-molded polypropylene cone, rubber surround, high-temperature aluminum voice coil, and double-stacked magnet structure. Its white UV-stable ASA frame and grille system are designed for marine exposure, while the removable two-piece grille accepts either sport or stainless-steel inserts. The subwoofer includes a grille/trim ring assembly and uses stainless mounting hardware.

Install this model in an infinite-baffle location with a mounting baffle that separates the front and rear wave paths to prevent acoustic cancellation. The manufacturer specifies an 11-inch cutout diameter and 5.13-inch mounting depth; verify panel clearance before cutting. Use a compatible amplifier, set the VersaSwitch for the intended impedance load, and use an active 80-100 Hz low-pass crossover plus an infrasonic filter at or above the subwoofer's resonant frequency for infinite-baffle use.
