Integrated Color Optix RGB LEDs provide multicolor lighting through the subwoofer assembly. The lighting system is designed to work with a compatible Rockford Fosgate Color Optix controller and the RF Connect app for color and pattern control. A PMX-RGB controller is sold separately for this function.

Design & Installation

The M1D4-12 uses an injection-molded mineral-filled polypropylene cone with UV inhibitors, a Santoprene VAST surround, synthetic-fiber-blend spiders, and insulated silicone tinsel leads. Its frame and grille use UV-stable ASA plastic, while the motor is vented and protected by a water-repelling nano-coated mesh screen. Marine-grade brass terminals with zinc-nickel plating and IP67 certification support use in exposed marine installations.

Allow for a 10.85-inch cutout and 6.65 inches of mounting depth when planning the installation. The manufacturer specifies a 1.65-cubic-foot sealed enclosure or 2.45-cubic-foot vented enclosure, and the subwoofer should be powered by an amplifier appropriate for its 300-watt RMS rating and selected 2-ohm or 8-ohm load. For RGB control, connect the integrated lighting system to a compatible Color Optix controller such as the separately sold PMX-RGB.
