The Memphis MM84TB is a pair of 8-inch marine and powersports tower speakers built for installations where music needs to project beyond the vehicle or boat. Their sealed, weather-resistant construction makes them suited to wake towers, bar-mounted powersports applications, and other exposed locations. The black finish provides a coordinated appearance for dark tower and bar setups.

Each MM84TB speaker uses a 4-ohm design with 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak power handling. This gives system builders a substantial power target when selecting compatible amplification. The 8-inch glass-fiber woofer and Santoprene surround are designed to provide strong midbass while handling outdoor use.

Memphis Advanced Tower Array Construction, or ATAC, places a curved three-tweeter array across the front of the speaker rather than using a center-mounted compression horn. This arrangement allows the woofer to remain fully sealed and preserves its usable cone area. The curved array is intended to provide broad sound dispersion for listeners behind a boat or vehicle.

RGB LED illumination is integrated into the cone, tweeter array, side ring, rear ring, and rotating rear badge. The lighting gives the speakers a coordinated appearance at night while the rotating front grille and badge help keep branding aligned after installation. A stainless steel array grille protects the front of each enclosure.

The MM84TB is supplied as a matched black pair with cast stainless steel clamp brackets for compatible round bars. The EZ swivel mounting design allows each speaker to be aimed after it is mounted. For flat-surface installations, Memphis offers the separate MMSMTBK surface-mount bracket pair.

Design & Installation

The MM84TB uses an ASA plastic enclosure, sealed electrical connections, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel hardware for marine and powersports environments. Its stainless steel array grille, glass-fiber cone, and Santoprene surround complement the sealed speaker design. Memphis rates the enclosure IP66 and lists UV testing up to 1,500 hours.

Use the included cast stainless steel clamp brackets on round bars measuring 1.875 to 3 inches in diameter, then set the speaker direction with the 360-degree swivel adjustment. Allow clearance for the 10.28-inch height, 9.05-inch width, and 11.92-inch depth before final placement. Match the pair with suitable 4-ohm-capable amplification, speaker wiring, and an RGB lighting control solution appropriate to the overall system.
