This remote does not produce audio itself; it provides direct command of the connected receiver so the system can be adjusted from a secondary position. Its button layout includes source selection, seek controls, preset up/down functions, volume adjustment, and mute or pause control. White key illumination supports visibility when operating the system in low-light conditions.

The KCA-RC35MR is designed for marine and motorsports use with an IPX7 waterproof design. Its round 2-5/8-inch format and 5/8-inch mounting height support a compact, low-profile installation. A supplied gasket and mounting hardware help create a clean surface-mounted fit.

For expanded systems, the remote provides a remote-control input and output for in-line installation. Kenwood specifies that up to six remotes can be connected in-line with a compatible receiver. The KCA-RC35MR connects through a four-wire installation with ignition, illumination, ground, and remote-control wiring. It requires a compatible Kenwood receiver with a light blue/yellow remote-control connection. It is an add-on control accessory rather than a standalone radio or audio source.

The KCA-RC35MR uses a round, gray surface-mount design with illuminated keys and an IPX7 waterproof rating. Its compact 2-5/8-inch diameter and 5/8-inch mounting height help it fit locations where a full receiver faceplate would be impractical. The supplied foam gasket, bracket, bolt, lock washer, and wing nut support secure mounting.

Installation requires routing the attached four-wire harness through the mounting surface and connecting ignition, illumination, ground, and light blue/yellow remote-control wiring to a compatible receiver system. The attached harness is 8 inches long, so additional wiring may be needed depending on the mounting location. Use the supplied hardware and fuse, and have marine wiring performed by a qualified installer when appropriate.
